Yeah, yeah, yeah. All the teams are comprised of NFL quality players, any given Sunday and all that.
Facts is facts, we're a daaaaamn good football team. The upper echelon of the NFL. Whatever random prognostications we do now won't matter any degree to whether an inch, foot, yard or entire field is gained in any one play this coming season. We're going to win a lot of games this season, so let's have a little slow time offseason fun picking against the peasantry.
That said, who do you think will be the easiest/biggest beat down of a non-divisional opponent we'll face this season?
Here's the schedule pulling out the East team match-ups.
Week 2, Chicago
Week 3, @ Houston
Week 5, Tennessee
Week 6, @ Minnesota
Week 8 Jaxonvil
Week 9 @ Green Bay
Week 11 Detroit
Week 12 New Orleans
Week 13 @ Indy
Week 16 @ Arizona
Barring major shake ups you can bet that NO, Minn, Indy and GB will be good/great games. Houston also has an outside shot at being good, but any team deploying Jacques ******* Reeves can be exploited.
That leaves 5 lame ducks to choose from. Tennessee, Detroit, Arizona, Chicago and Jaxonvil.
Each has their issues. Tennessee's run game is stellar. Their passing game, *** opposite. Defense was horrible last season but I admittedly have no idea how much of it was due to injuries. Jump ahead of them early, and this could be done quick. I have a hard time being afraid of a team with Vince Young at quarterback.
Jaxonvil, poor defense, poor passing game by last year. Drafting looks iffy. Like most teams, you have to wonder how much they can bounce back from the injuries they sustained very early in the season. They do have a tough front half of the schedule.
Arizona. Week 16. If a Vince Young led team doesn't really put the fear of the forward pass into your mind, Matt "I wish I never left kolug" Leinart is right there with him. He has got to have done a ton of growing up this offseason to take the reins of this team and run with them. Lot of growing up. In all likelihood, we could be seeing a different QB at their helm by the time we match-up in week 16, or he could have earned his spurs. Time will tell.
Chicago. Their GM has plenty to say lately and it included that their offensive line is their biggest concern going into this season. Mike Martz is there to put in a new offense, but does he have the horses there to run the race? Week 2 match-up could get ugly for them real quick like.
That brings us to the lamest of the lame. 2 wins in their last 33 games, one of them coming against Washington. Have losing streak? Washington will fix ya right on up. This team honestly has more holes than a swiss cheese factory. Welcome to the center stage, the Detroit Lions.
I have a hard time not picking the kittens. Too easy and they have too far a row to hoe to get out from the Matt Millen stench he infused throughout the team.
Your thoughts?
