• WR - Tolbert vs Turpin vs Brooks for #3?
• TE - Schoon vs Hendershot, Phillips vs Hendershot
• OL - Pick one. All starters except Zack and Tyler are probably up for grabs.
• DT - Mazi vs a tree stump
• DE - Sam Williams, Marshawn Kneeland vs Tank
• LB - Is there enough depth to even have a battle for all 3 spots?

I go with OL for both. I know Trey Lance will be popular just because QB always is, but I think our season can be ‘make or break’ depending on how well those rookies and second year linemen compete. I would pick Mazi but I’m really not sure who is competition is, or the whole Front 7 for that matter. Seem to have some scary depth for a new DC in Zimm who loves to run a traditional 4-3.

Left tackle. It is a top three position in football, along with quarterback and defensive end/pass rusher. The other two are already established. Tyler Guyton was drafted to fill Tyron Smith's vacancy and shall eventually do so but he is not 'The Man' yet. He must become The Blind Side protector for this offense sooner rather than later.

I am looking forward to the Hoffman/Bebee center competition. I don’t think fans, media, or YouTubers understand it’s Hoffman’s job to lose.

Guyton needs all the reps he can get, and he was drafted to be the starting LT, so why waste time.
Chuma knew he was odd man out as soon we picked Guyton.
This OL finally has some interesting depth, with Richards, Bass, Chuma and the rooks, I can look at that group and feel pretty positive about the OL becoming a real strength
at some point during the season, it was an OL overhaul, so there will be an obvious learning curve, but OL learn to gel quicker when they get the reps together.

The staff sure holds Hoffman in high regards, so at the very least he is bringing a hard nosed work ethic attitude and that is something that is very welcome.
I believe as you do that it is Hoffmans job to lose.

i think games are different defined by tempo of game as far as RB....yes i hope Trey Lance not only beats out Cooper but does a 2016 on Dak?....but i am not down on Dak at all

My hope is that at least one of the 2 may approach a possibly credible WR2 by season's end.

Then, of course the Hoffman. Bass and Beebe competition for OC.

But I am not as convinced on Guyton's plug and play capability as the majority here so I still lean towards Tyler at LT and Bass at LG.

Wouldn't mind seeing Stephens build off last year's potential and leapfrog Schoon into the TE2 position too.

Williams needs to step up at DE and Diggs return from injury are the 2 other positions I'll be interested in seeing play out.

Note: I didn't list Beebe because I expect him to win the starting spot in OTAs and won't need to play in the preseason games. You might see Micah Parsons and Zack Martin get get some preseason reps but Beebe will be considered too valuable to risk on meaninngless preseason games..
