White iPhone finally launches

I think it is.

They should go all silver.

Yeah, Silver would be a better option or even titanium or graphite would look good. The white just looks. Well, ugly.

What an ugly device.

I don't like white phones. Don't care who the maker is. They always look cheap to me.

I think part of the problem is that the white frames the screen, making the screen look even smaller, especially when off.

With a black device, the screen kind of blends into the rest of the phone, you notice the content more than the package it comes in, I guess.

Getting a white iPhone is kind of like favoring the fact that you have an iPhone over what it's actual purpose is, which is fine.

I feel the same way about white cars. They always look too plastic.

Does color matter somehow? I honestly don't know. I still use a Sony Ericsson flip phone. I am not into all this crap.

I'm with ya Hos, I don't understand it. I don't want to be on my phone all freaking day, calling and texting is all I need. I don't need to be completely disconected from the real world, like so many are today. I have a Samsung SYNC, probably about 5 years old. It still says Cingular on it, lol.

...a colour choice for another piece of plastic.

Can the world really be this underwhelming?

I have never sent nor received a text message and plan on that until I take a dirt nap.

A lot of people I know have sleeves for their iPhones and the sleeves come in a variety of colors. So what does it matter what color the phone is.

Hos, send me your phone number, so I can send you a text.

Your loss I think.

Texting is not just a frivolous activity for teens and narcissists (not necessarily your portrayal, but a very popular one here in the Zone). It's a very handy asynchronous method of communication. It comes in particularity handy for my wife and I. She is an elementary school principal so she cannot drop everything and answer the phone when I need to contact her. I coach several of my son's teams and can't always be reached right away. It's an easy way to keep on top of everything and make sure we're on the same page. We recently got my mother in law started texting as well and she loves it as she is very involved with our kids and it's an easy way to let her know when plans change or if someone needs picked up, etc.

I dont know what I'd do without a smartphone. I can look up anything instantly any time, get directions, use it as a gps, watch/listen to baseball, and it makes sitting in a waiting room or waiting anywhere more tolerable. Say what you want about not being tethered to work, but if you are in a job where you need to be connected constantly its a godsend.

Texting works great when you don't want to start blabbing publicly as well. I generally don't care to have people hear my conversation and I don't want to hear theirs either. My phone generally stays quiet and it's only for emergencies or letting my wife and I know what's up with each other.

But I have found myself wishing I'd had a smartphone on a few occasions, where accessing my bank account on the fly would have been convenient. But I haven't been able to really rationalize that kind of money for something like that.

I read this post on my iPhone.

Finally got to look at my wife's white iPhone 4. Gorgeous device. I'd almost prefer one of these. It looks incredible.
