Though I don't agree with him at times, I like Mike Fisher because he has good sources. He works hard.

Todd Archer is also good. Gosselin is just a stat ***** who builds his argument the way he wants by twisting numbers to suit him.

Most of today's DFW Cowboys media is comprised of simple-minded mob regurgitation.

I like reading Nick Eatman's articles on the mothership website. Charean Williams is a good egg these days to read.

I can't believe Mickey's name hasn't been mentioned.

I go with Archer, Sturm, Moore, Hill and Williams. Most of them are pretty good, I have no problems most any of them. I know when one of them writes something negative, many here go crazy and call tem hacks and such, but that doesn't bother me, Mickey is the only that I avoid reading.

Just curious what other think.

At one time for me, "most" was Gosselin, but in recent years, not so much.

"Least" has been and still is JJT.

For most, there's not a stand-out, but I suppose I'd go with Charean Williams.
I really don't like most of the Dallas mediots but if I have to pick one it would be Charean Williams.

I only really care what Todd Archer, Babe laufenberg, Brad Sham and Kristie Scales say.

Okay, I guess to qualify who I mean by "Cowboys media," I'd say anyone who ever shows up in Garrett's pressers or otherwise primarily broadcasts or writes about the Boys.

I like Broaddus and Norm. While I can't stand JJT, Mickey is wretched garbage and unlistenable.

"Least" has been and still is JJT.

For most, there's not a stand-out, but I suppose I'd go with Charean Williams.

My order would look like this:

The Best:
1. Kevin Turner (KT) - funny, authentic with measured insight.
2. David Helman - funny also, can be unpredictable but gives a non-rose-colored cowboys analysis that's refreshing.
3. Rich Gosselin - has dropped but still respect his opinion. More cerebral that most sports media.
4. Todd Archer - contents seems on the mark most of time. Rarely turn down chance to read his articles.
5. Bob Sturm - Cerebral writer who I often disagree with but I respect on level of detail he writes with.
6. Bryan Broaddus - barely makes my top 6. Can bully others but just has ton of insights from past NFL jobs.

The Worst:
1. Josh Ellis - I honestly think something is wrong with him listening to Star podcast. Just horrible.
2. Jean-Jacques Taylor - has been worst writer for long time now. If I see his name at top - I avoid reading article.
3. Jon Machota - hands down worst media member on twitter who rarely engages.
4. Mickey Spagnola - he just has to make this list. Behaves with self entitlement. Doesn't play well with others. Shows he is on have become who can they find that are ok dealing with him.

Sturm and Archer deliver the best insight into what the Cowboys are planning and doing.

Broaddus gives us some unique insight, but he too frequently confuses his own ideas with those of the team. With him, you never know whether what you're hearing is his own opinion or the team's.

Fisher also has good insight, but he's constantly trying to sell his stuff as Exclusive! or Breaking! when often it isn't. Can be very annoying.

Outside of Archer though, I wouldn't classify any of these as classic journalists.

If you're looking for insightful, well-written, well-researched articles about the Cowboys, your best bet are probably Charean Willams and David Moore. They don't pander to the social media crowd so much, but their longform pieces are probably the best around, even if you might not always agree with what they are writing.

And then there's a whole slew of mud-rackers who pay their bills by being consistently negative about the Cowboys, like Matt Mosley, Mac Engel, and the recently retired Randy Galloway. As Jerry Jones once said: "Galloway has made a damn good living just ripping me."

Broaddus. Good insight, Scout's background and seems like a good dude.

I like Fish because he is that guy that you rip on, but you still value for what he says

Its fun watching him spin when he was about something into how he wasnt really wrong at all

Most: Fisher
Least: Everyone else

They all are extra critical of the team just so they don't come off as homers. Also they can be insufferable if the Cowboys don't draft the players they wanted. Sturm's whole argument for Ramsey over Zeke was just asinine to me.

Broaddus is probably my favorite. I'll always be a Mickey fan too though.

Least favorite is JJT, easily.
