No mention of Desmond King who has 17 INT's the past 3 years? People are going to knock him because he's not 6'+ and doesn't run a 4.4 40 but the kid can flat out ball. If he really falls to the 2nd/3rd I think he'd be a steal.

Supposedly he is being looked at more as a safety than a corner by some teams.

The play-making DBs in this drafts are the ones that end up playing behind good front sevens.

Despite all of the media hype he has all of 2 take aways in the past 2 years.

Replace Peppers with the name Ramsey. Guys said the same thing about Ramsey. Only one interception in 3 years, not many PBUs, etc. Can't take him. Will be a bust because he didn't show playmaking ability.

And Ramsey just made 1st team all rookie and graded out very well as a CB as rookie.

Peppers is a legit stud. Will be a future star at S. If he's there at 28............... I don't even think twice (again unless a stud DE slips to that spot).

Ramsey can cover though. Peppers can not.

Im all for upgrading this terrible secondary, but we need ballhawks and playmakers back there...

Apples to oranges dude. The narrative may have been similar but their games are polar opposites. Show me one play where you saw Peppers actually backpedal and make a play on a ball. Just one instance. Ramsey had many in college. I'm not saying Peppers won't be good, I'm saying he didn't show anything in college that says he'll be an elite defender.

First of all, Peppers isn't going to be a CB in the NFL. He's going to be a S. I think he'd be an ideal SS here next to Jones. He can run, cover a bit, he's a good blitzer, he is good at run support. Has had success covering TEs as well, a weakness of ours. As a safety, he'd be a big playmaker with his abilities.

The only point I was making about the interceptions is that people used his lack of interceptions to say he can't play at the next level. It's silly to use that against Peppers.

But your Ramsey reference is still irrelevant. You're trying to compare a man coverage CB to a free roaming SS/LB. Not only did Peppers not make many plays on D, but I also don't think he played nearly as much assignment football at Michigan as he will in the NFL either . You can tell Harbough gave him a lot of freedom in that D, and that won't be the case in the NFL. I'm not saying he can't be a good player in the future, but he is indeed overrated due to media hype. He belong more mid-late 2nd round in my opinion.

Actually it's quite relevant. As a man cover CB, Ramsey should have had more interceptions than he did. At least that's what some of you guys said.

Peppers was an in the box safety/LB for a lot of his time on the field. So using lack of interceptions against him is even more foolish than using it against Ramsey.

How cant you see that?

The knock on Peppers was that he was a hybrid player and the issue is what position do you play him at?

He does have athleticism and football ability but he is below average in coverage which is problematic for a S in todays game!

He is too small to play LB at 215 and would be eaten up by blocks.

Brugler was saying on the Draft show that some coaches may look at him as a RB.
