No. Just pointless to activate a guy who is solely a special teams player. I would activate a guy who could leave an impact on the game like C-Mike over McCray or Heath.

Not when you are playing a team with one of the best special teams
Special teams wins and loses gamed

Bernie's the backup because he can play multiple positions. LC is the higher ranking pure OG. LC will get the start, with Bernie resuming his OG/C backup role.
collins has a bright future but there is no reason to risk the health of your QB with a guy still learning when you have a solid vet
Collins probably is the better pure guard but nfl blitzes are nothing line what he seen in college and at another position

I don't think Bryce Butler goes this early, and while it's tempting to give Michael a shot, I think we're much better served using an 8th D-lineman against Philly.

Other than that, I have Collins starting at LG and Leary resting.

From what I took from Garrett's PC, Collins still get acclimated to playing. Not quite ready yet. But could just be a decoy. LOL.
At first I thought this too, need the extra DL for rotation, keep fresh players when able to substitute. But now, kind of thinking, if we have Michael in there to keep RB's maintaining ball control, it keeps our D off the field and rested that way. I think we see Butler too, if for anything to stretch the field, spread out their defense, so they can't keep 8 in the box, or blitz all the time.

I am still struggling to see even the ST value of McCray.

Guessing it was a bit easier to see today ;)

But in all seriousness, the Special Teams as a whole has been great so far. Even though Dwayne Harris didn't run one back for us last year, he was more than a solid return man and Sproles was one of the most dangerous guys last year and this group of guys that no one wants around here, McCray, Heath, Wilber, ect have been great so far this year.
