Who can jerry hire to help our Ivy league coach with the time questions he has

I feel that another coach on the field (or remote location 10-4 good buddy) would greatly help JG as Jerry has the dough and won't be effected by the cap problem here. I'm talking about a clock management specialist. Wouldn't it be neat to make our biggest problem an absolute asset. Jason could pretend he knows what to do after the coach buzzes him with the probables and the calculations that JG just can't seem to understand. Get the Cowboys an edge!, reduce the stress on Jason and improve the productivity of the 4th quarter for our team.

Well…they tried that with Dan Reeves and Jason said it would hurt his feelings.

Jerry thinks he is the HC anyway and Jason is just the OC so this is all by the cowboy way.

I do think Jerry will get this done. Oh a shout out to the big boss for not allowing Marinelli to interview in Tampa. LOL

Herm Edwards?

No... too dorky. I'm thinking that one of our high IQ CZ members might take a 125k job to make these calls. I don't want to say any names but JG needs you, the Cowboys need you. A toast to the New Year! I hope jerry is looking around and taking apps.

I was joking. Herms clock management blunders are legendary in NJ. Made Garrett look like Belichick.

Should we call run... or pass? Its that simple isn't it? I mean "WE RAN WHEN WE SHOUDA PASSED... AND THEN THE NEXT TIME WE PASSED WHEN WE SHOUDA RUN." Why did you run stupid Garrett?

What are you talking about? I'm talking about time managment not playcalling.

I'm just kidding around. My point being, isn't it all so simple that a Madden player could do it? We all engage in it, but I find it funny that the guy sitting on his couch actually thinks that he could do a better job than ANY NFL coach. I think we would all experience some humility very quickly.

I understand, I was trying/failing to be funny. But I do think time managment is an area where JG could use some help and I do not think it is particularly difficult to be good at that.

Yes time management is the problem not QB's throwing for 400 yards or scoring a TD on every drive in the second half. If Garrett could just save a few seconds here and there we wouldn't even need a safety.

I actually think he has improved in that area. I just don't see the major issues that others do with that. My #1 complaint with Garrett is that I watch how he interacts with players and I think he needs to be more authoritative than he is. Players can love playing for a players coach, but every team needs a hammer from time to time. I hear him say he never says he is "proud of them", but just "proud to be a part of them." I'm sorry, if you are the head coach, you are THE authority. I think Jerry's presence will always be a hindering factor for any coach who isn't named Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells.

Spot on. In my opinion, most around here are missing the forest for the trees when it comes to the state of our team.

I agree, you can't have players yelling at him in the sideline.

As for the time managment, just as an example, last week, calling a timeout before the field goal at the end of the half to leave time for the Eagles was just inexcusable and frankly dumb.

If Bailey somehow misses that kick you leave them with 24 seconds at the 40. 24 seconds that they shouldn't have had. The week before he was calling a timeout before the 4th down play that would've left 30 extra seconds for the Commanders to come back with but Tony stopped him.

I'm sorry but those things can't happen.

If I'm not mistaken, the clock had already stopped with the player going out of bounds. Calling the timeout or not calling it didn't affect anything except give the FG team more time to set up.

No, they called forward progress before he went ob, clock was still ticking.

I'll go back and look at that again. I still have the game on my DVR. But this is my point as well. Its like everyone has a microscope on the guy. Do you realize how many mistakes are made in any NFL game EVERY Sunday? We need some perspective around here.

I'm pretty sure that was the case, but check it out to be sure.

Anyway, he's here for al least another year, I hope the switch flips on next year and we go on a tear and I am proven wrong.

The HC is responsible for the whole team. Bad game/clock management, non-existent in game adjustments on both Offense AND defense. Having no feel for the flow of a game at all. Having no situational football sense (detroit). Backup players not being prepared when their numbers are called.
