Its the middle of the dry spell so lets discuss who might have been a great head coach for Dallas.

The only caveat to this thread, is that they had to have been on the roster as either a player or a coach at some point AND they have to deal with the Jerry.

Who ya got?

Danny White, Darren Woodson, Bill Bate and Michael Irvin all come to mind

I read the thread title and Hostile and Risen Star immediately came to mind.

Bruce Coslet

One of Jerry's greatest hires. I have no idea why Parcells didn't retain this guy.

The ol "fall down and get up uncovered" cheap score RZ offense. Felt like I was watching the old Disney flick "Little Giants" when seeing that. Just WOW.

I want say Sean too. But he had/has Brees. So I don't know if it works here with Romo.

Why do you believe so? If anything, I always felt Romo and Brees have very similar skill sets though Brees has the stronger arm/better deep ball.

Nate Newton!

When Jerry comes down on him too hard he can just pull out a 55 gallon bag of weed and go to town and be happy.

The Favre thing.

Fair point. I'm a Romo fan but not above acknowledging the late game blunders @ times. My main gripe with Romo is the 'win or go home' games. At the conclusion of his career, he will have to answer to that and why I really hope he can win a SB to rid (or @ least distance himself) from that label.

My point is... I don't trust that Romo can do what Brees did in playoffs... Super bowl run...win.
I think you're probably right, though I think Romo is actually more talented than Brees. Tony isn't a guy who fits into and knows how to run a system like Brees. Certainly similar arm talent, but I think Tony is a far better playmaker than Brees ever has been/will be.

Actually, I think running the system is one of his greatest strengths.

I think part of the problem is he is locked into the system and when a receiver runs wrong route or breaks off too soon or too late. That's a wrap! He needs to maybe do, as you said, be a playmaker more. Instead of Always trusting system/players.
