Elite wide outs with the way the rules are simply are impossible to stop...

Just dont let him have a game like he did against the packers last year

As weird as it is, I'd rather Claiborne shadow him with a Safety over the top. Carr is more suited to cover R. White and I think he's very capable of shutting him down for the most part. They don't have a very good TE and Lee will take care of Freeman. The Falcons go as Julio goes.

Our secondary looks good so far. Pretty much shut down OBJ13, and held E-lie to less than 200 yards. This gives me confidence, but I'm wondering who draws the Julio Jones assignment. Can we slow this dude down at all? He destroyed Maxwell. He's big, fast, and physical like Megatron. We got our work cut out with him...and Roddy White. Thoughts?

Ok, let me break this down. The Eagles and the Giants coaching staff had a horrible game plan for Julio. They played a lot of single high and left Julio in 1 on 1 way too often because they wanted to pressure Ryan. I live in Atl and I follow the Falcons because all of my friends love them. When teams play man to man Ryan immediately stares down Julio. With our defense I fully expect them to play Julio exactly how they played OBJ and that's with a safety over top and occasionally sliding a LB his way.

We don't try to be as fansy as the Giants and Eagles with blitzing and stunts and with Atl weak oline I see us putting pressure on Ryan early and often and from what I've seen from Ryan is that he is not as good as he is perceived I counted a total of 4 would be interceptions that was dropped by defenders on top of the picks he threw. The focus is on Julio and Julio only. They're like us. They do not have many weapons on that offense. We win 28-14

Correct. We will double Julio and scheme to take him out of the game. We will expect Claiborne to match up with White or whoever is wide and Patmon to cover whoever is slot and Jones to cover the TE. Then Sean Lee will patrol the middle and attack the run.

Put Ryan on his back so he has no time to throw.

Carr needs to be physical and have Wilcox perform some physical hits. I put Claiborn on White. If Carr has trouble I may even consider rookie Jones (more size and speed) on him with help.

The nice thing about Julio, is we've got experience trying to cover Dez in practice. We should have a good idea of who can and who can't do what against a great player like that.

I like that school of thinking.

I'll try to push deep into my subconscious a similar set of thoughts expressed here a couple of years ago when the Cowboys played against Megatron and he went off for 300 yards.

They may have made a mistake there. CJ is not like any player in the league, physically. Jones is at least similar to Dez in a lot of ways.

Make sure we talk to the refs before the game and tell them to watch for offensive PI on the bubble screen just like Philly did.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I put Mo on him call it a wrap. Mo has quietly been acquitting himself well in the 1st two games. That "pattern" is beginning to develop. Like I said, shut your mouth and string some good games together. He's doing that. I would go with Mo until he indicates through his actions that he needs help.

Double him. Don't let him beat you. I like the matchups with Carr on White presumably and Patmon on Hankerson. White is nowhere near the same player he once was. Ryan for whatever reason is not the same player on the road as home. Hit him early. Get him rattled and he'll fold similar to how Bradford did. Their offensive line still isn't very good. They will struggle with a young, quick, explosive defensive line like ours. With Coleman likely out and no real running threat I think we have a shot to blow them out if we stick to the game plan and don't turn the football over.

Get Weeden going early. Establish the run. Get a couple of shots down field because they'll likely be playing a lot of press/man coverage. They'll commit to stopping the run early. If we can loosen things up with some big plays down the field I think we can have our first big day on the ground.

Mo playing press with Wilcox over the top. Same way we contained that raghead on the Giants team.

We played Calvin alot with single coverage. He wasnt a special player in January becauae we doubled him all game. Dez and Julio are both better than Calvin

we dont, let him have a few passes like the Giants did and than the Falcons pull a Cowboys and get rid of the player that is performing. And double team Roddy white because only the Falcons think hes still something to behold. Stop their run game and out score them.
