Mo playing press with Wilcox over the top. Same way we contained that raghead on the Giants team.

Agree with this, but will call him ODB instead of "Raghead". Freeman really isn't a hell of a runner, Coleman is better in that regard. Freeman is good at pass catching. Have Lee spy him.

Yeah ok I'll call him ODB also. I just hate his haircut. But he is a great player and I like how we were able to contain him.

Not worried about Freeman. He is no where the runner Coleman is. I still wish we would have tried to get Coleman. But I guess we can't have cake and eat it also.

Our secondary looks good so far. Pretty much shut down OBJ13, and held E-lie to less than 200 yards. This gives me confidence, but I'm wondering who draws the Julio Jones assignment. Can we slow this dude down at all? He destroyed Maxwell. He's big, fast, and physical like Megatron. We got our work cut out with him...and Roddy White. Thoughts?

It will likely be a combination of boxing techniques. Sometimes the linebacker will cover underneath and shut down passing lanes, with the corner playing outside containment and other times it will be the corner playing press, transitioning into underneath and pass lane cut down with the safety playing outside-deep containment, dependent on down, distance, and situation.

The nice thing about Julio, is we've got experience trying to cover Dez in practice. We should have a good idea of who can and who can't do what against a great player like that.

True...but name the corner in training camp that shut down Dez?

yeah, we are totally screwed.

Julio will get his... but I think we slow him compared to what he did to Philly and NY... which means he still probably
gets numbers like 8-100-1td.... we should be able to score... Atlanta's defensive scheme is Seattle with less talent.
Should be an interesting game.

If you press him then Carr with a cover 2 on non-passing downs. Otherwise you play off a fair amount in the nickel or dime with deep help dictated by down, distance, score and offensive personnel and formation.

Julio is going to get his. We're just going to have to find a way to get more.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I put Mo on him call it a wrap. Mo has quietly been acquitting himself well in the 1st two games. That "pattern" is beginning to develop. Like I said, shut your mouth and string some good games together. He's doing that. I would go with Mo until he indicates through his actions that he needs help.

Mo is starting to play like a high draft pick. I hope he is extended.

Carr and Claiborne generally play sides right/left; therefore, it will depend on which side Julio Jones lines up on as to which CB covers him. Either way Wilcox will likely being helping the CB or in the packages with Byron Jones on the field he could be involved also.

The Giants and Eagles QBs like to get the ball out really fast (about 2 seconds). The Falcon's QB appears to take more 7 step drops and hold the ball longer. This should give the Dallas defense a chance to sack him.

This.

It's basically what every team does to Dez, and, to some extent, what we did to OBJ.

you do it in variety of ways. he is going to make plays, but its to ensure you limit the damage. you play some man, with safey over the top, bump him at the line, bracket him, play some zone. and the best cure is pass rush. we have to get to Matt Ryan. we have to limit the run game, to force their play calling.
