Who do you cut Brown, Trigg or Mafah

Right now, I see both Mafah and Trigg being cut. Trigg hasn't done enough because of injury to win a spot on the team even if he is claimed. Now, I'd prefer we see if we can get something for Schoonmaker since he only has a year left on his contract, but Trigg is going to have to show up big in this game IMO to force Dallas to keep him.

No way am I cutting Camden Brown.
I’d be shopping several of the final year guys. They’re not good enough to where the team was going to pay them next year anyway.

See if you can get anything for:
  • Schoonmaker
  • Mingo
  • Sam Williams
  • Hooker
I think we have depth at all of their positions.

Totally agree.. would be shopping em for a bag of balls. They would not be missed and aren't the future.

Some good points. Regarding Brown, the primary difference was Ced Wilson and Laurent Robinson new contracts weren't worth trying to retain, though he could end up being the next Cropper or Brooks.

That said, you want a good pipeline of talent in different stages of the career.

Right now we've got:
CeeDee: True #1 WR locked in through end of 2028 (franchise player).
GP: True #1 WR on a tag; 2026-27 offseason decision
Flournoy: Emerging contributor, solid #3, possible #2; 2026-27 offseason decision.
Turpin: Gadget player who is more of a #4, PR/KR locked up until end of 2027
????

Mingo seems like the 5th guy, but he's also a 26-27 offseason decision. If you don't keep Brown, there's a chance he goes somewhere else and thrives, and we're going "Dang... what happened to our stacked WR room?" next year.
That's also a good point but the counterpoint is the Cowboys can't build their roster off of potential they literally have to build it by whatever helps them win the most and keeps the most depth this year II know it's weird but that's just the way it is they spent too many resources on trying to get the defense better they can't go too deep at wide receiver when they don't need it I think they're going to need to use those resources on maybe a tackle maybe another corner I mean they're going to have to go long in the places that they are the most exposed and those two are the most exposed they're gonna need more bodies and more room just in case..

Look I get it II seen what you saw but but that doesn't mean that he should be kept over mingo we should try to get him to the practice squad..

That does suck when we lose a player with all that potential we traded away the corner named Ward before we saw what he had but it happens sometimes other teams do it too I mean how you think we got George Pickens for a 3rd round pick...

These are all valid points and we'll see what the coaches feel..

Maybe you get a late draft pick?

Or maybe you get a player that wasn’t going to make the other team’s roster?

I’d love to be able to flip one or more of those names for a veteran offensive tackle.

Dawand Jones perhaps?

If you cut Brown, he’s gone.

If you’re OK with losing him, that’s one thing, but they can’t kid themselves and think they’ll get away with that.
You say that but I remember when we put Cooper Rush on the practice squad people said oh look at all them games he won he might even be better than Prescott and yet not a person took him they didn't even care Same thing with Flo, everybody said Flo wouldn't make it back to this roster they did it twice and he still made it back He wasn't just on the practice squad he was cut cleared waivers and made it back to the practice squad didn't flow is better than Brown at this point we're not talking about potential we're talking about this season..

You think that's a guarantee I could go look at quarterbacks that are doing really well in preseason in other positions and then they're not gonna end up even playing this year like being active unless there's a rash of injuries And also when they finally do get on a real roster in a real game with game plans they're not gonna look the same..

I'm not saying I didn't see what you saw i'm telling you, can't build a team worried about losing a guy who's your WR6.. I mean if you want to make them 5 that's great but you still those dudes are not going to be active very often you can't take up a roster spot of need for depth for a guy with potential...

Look I understand what people see I get it but I'm telling you prepare to buckle up we're gonna lose some of our faves for good reason they're gonna have a good reason to cut him and if he ends up on another team and does well that's just too bad...

I was assuming something like 6s or 7s. Jones would be interesting.

Did Flournoy have the numbers and performances that Brown has had? The answer is no.

None of the players people try to point to have.

Brown is unique in that regard.

You cut him, be prepared to lose him.

Cut Mafah and Blue , bring Blue back to PS . Keep Davis and Abikanada as back ups to Williams and incorporate Brown into this offense all he does is fight DB’s downfield and catch the pass

Doesn't matter what you think you saw,

Flournoy you could see he was that guy he is a faster and better route runner and has more upside than Brown, you guys are overrating some stats, I thought stats didn't matter?

Yes, he's a very very solid possession receiver with very little speed ,very little separation, yes he's made a bunch of catches in preseason,

preseason,

preseason ,

against backups,

i'm just saying we were right about flournoy didn't matter he didn't need a bunch of yards you could see it you cannot see those traits in Brown ,except for yes he can catch the damn ball he can catch in traffic because he's not getting open but he can do contested catches great he's got a good eye coordination to catch a ball but he doesn't have have any special traits he is Noah Brown with better hands..

Before you say it I guarantee I can go find five games in the NFL that Noah Brown lit it up I bet I can go back to his Ohio State days and see some really good traits in him so don't say no there's no way he's Brown you're underrating the guy...

But we were absolutely correct about flournoy We didn't need to see all the yards..

I get it I get what you're saying but I'm telling you this is gonna come down to numbers and some of y'all are gonna get mad... Let's talk Wednesday when the cut down is over and then they filling out their practice squad and they're turning the bottom and maybe we'll see what the coaches thought about him... Over a guy like Mingo that they gave up a 4th for that is bigger has more speed,..

Means he has better traits he has more upside..
