With the threats of drafting Lacy at 18, I'll be happy as a clam if they get Fluker. Maybe that is their master plan?

DJ Fluker. Guy was recruited to Alabama with all the hype in the world. I watched a lot of Alabama games because I love watching SEC football and he never impressed me. If we take him in the 1st round I will not be happy at all.

Fluker scares me because he is slow and slow footed. I don't see how he can OT in the NFL. He will get eaten alive by fast pass rushers. We won't be able to use him in a run first physically dominant OL like he was used in Alabama. People talk about moving him to OG and he'd probably be better there but I'd prefer guys they have on tape who have proven extreme dominance in college ball as OG is not a premier position and such players are rarely taken in the mid-first round.

I'm curious about these answers as well. Last time we picked at 18, we selected Bobby Carpenter.

Fluker and Lacy.

You just don't draft a project OG or an ordinary RB at 18.

1. Lacy - he benefitted from an NFL-caliber OL so who knows what he will bring to the NFL - a bruising style like in college will not fare well in the NFL
2. Vacarro - I don't have fear of him being a bust at all, I think he will be good, just not #18 good
3. Armstead - wow, never have I liked a guy so much but also been afraid of him...he isn't a first round guy at all, but if they took him in the 2nd, it would make me excited as a Cowboy fan and also nervous
4. B.Jones - can't see the hype that some others see; I can't see him going at #18, but like Vacarro, he isn't #18 good...IMO, he isn't #47 good or even #80 good...

Vaccaro. I don't think he'll 'bust'...but I fear that he'll just be a decent player who never makes plays. He's got all the tools to be great but I worry that he'll never put it together.

I disagree. I would say in my time as a fan...I started watching in 91.

So you are saying that for example Woodson was a better safety then LA was a guard?

Really?

Then you missed many great players like Mel Renfro a 10 time pro bowler at cb. And you missed Deon Sanders perhaps the best cover corner in the history of the NFL.

Hey I loved woody but... best cowboy of all time? Over emmit smith etc... you gotta be kidding me

Mingo, Ansah, B.Jones. Not sure they will have bad careers, but they are all extremely overrated.

I'm very aware of Deion and his time with the Cowboys. I would venture to say Woodson was a better all around player. But it's an opinion you're not obligated to agree with.

Allen would be my 2nd best player, actually. He's right up there with Woodson. Guy was a beast.

You don't like Thomas or Elam? I think those two would be a great duo. Not that we'd get them both, but I love both those guys.

Emmitt isn't even in my personal, top 5. He was a selfish player. I take huge points away for that. That, and he had the benefit of playing behind a great offensive line.

Ansah for me

I agree that Ansah and to a lesser extent Mingo are high risk but we don't have to worry about them as they are slated to be off the board by the time we are on the clock. I also think Mingo may not fit into our defense anymore now that we have switched to 4-3. I don't think he is strong enough to play DE.
