two guys I avoid are Margus Hunt and Kyle Long.

Hunt is stiff and plays too upright making him easily blockable on most plays.
Might be a great goalline TE type who can block kicks but at DE and for an early round I am not a fan. At best a part-time DL.

Round 4 type selection for me.

Kyle Long to me looked clueless of how to block people. He was the anti-DeCastro. He is a solid athlete but has terrible OL skill IMHO. I think he is another short-term blocking TE specialist that follows a Jermey Pernell curve.

I do not think he is build for or skilled enough to play OG. Merely a long-term RT project that may grow into a 3rd swing OT at his apex.

A player I'd like in round 5.

Emmitt isn't even in my personal, top 5. He was a selfish player. I take huge points away for that. That, and he had the benefit of playing behind a great offensive line.

It seems that Woodson is your favorite player, but not necessarily the best. Selfishness is not a really a factor when grading an NFL player. You make a case for it in the NBA if a guy being a ball-hog affects the team; however, Emmitt didn't call the plays for the Cowboys.

On a side note, it is interesting to see how the media/broadcasting careers of the nineties Cowboys have progressed. I thought that Woody and DJ would be the best and that Aikman would be the worst, with Emmitt, Irvin, Nate in the middle. It turns out that Aikman is the best with Woody possibly being the 2nd worst behind Emmitt.

Walker it is time for you to put your mock in your signature I am anxiously awaiting yours and RS12's. That fourth rd choice is tough. I encourage all of you to lay down your picks and feel the dilemma in the third and fourth rd.

I really don't think Werner is that great IMO. I don't think he's going to be a bust, but I don't really see a lot of upside.

This is crazy talk. Emmitt was the ultimate team player, and carried this team forever.

He might have become selfish when he was going for the record on a horrible team. But who can blame him?

What he was, was reliable and as tough as they come. Demarco, Felix, Julius, etc. etc get hurt tying there shoes.

That line was complete crap before Emmitt arrived. Also, Take a look at the '93 game against the Giants when Emmitt carried the team with a separated shoulder with the division title on the line and tell me he was selfish.

He played well during the beginning and the middle of his career. He was great in the beginning. But after a while, he got the record because he hung around too long when the league had passed him by. Sure, he could still run a little bit. But he wasn't that good. He went to the Cardinals and Roy Williams made him cry. Why would a Cowboy go to the Cardinals? I mean, I get it... he wanted to pad the record. I'm all about records, but a large part of his career he spent rubbing me the wrong way.

Woodson never did that. He did his job. He acted funny sometimes, but most of the time he was a true leader and you could always see that with Woodson, even at the end of his career, especially at the end of his career. I also think arguments can be made for other Cowboys other than Emmitt, such as Irvin and maybe Aikman. I remember the triplets, and they were great, but there were more great players besides just them and I happen to have a very high opinion of Woodson, obviously. But it's because he played with the kind of toughness and aggression that makes me love football.

So emmitt should have retired? It wasnt his choice to leave...if the man still wanted to play, how can you dog him for that? This is blasphemous imo

I am a huge Woodson fan also. You can make a case for Woody being your favorite on his merit alone. Why you feel the need to impugn the NFL's all time rushing leader and heart and soul of a dynasty to make your case is puzzling.

Last 3 years with Dallas:
2000 - 1,203 yards 9 TDs 16 games played
2001 - 1,021 yards 3 TDs 14 games played
2002 - 975 yards 5 TDs 16 games played

I think you need to recalibrate your memories. Remember, these were the 3 consecutive 5-11 seasons and were Emmitt's 11th, 12th and 13th seasons in the NFL. Since he left, exactly how many backs have we had who approached those 3-season-totals? I'll save you the trouble or researching this difficult question - 0, zero, zilch, nada, none.

Now, did he hang on a year or two too long? Maybe. But for you to say he was all about his numbers or the rushing record for his whole career (or even most of it) shows your complete lack of knowledge about him - or more likely your lack of knowledge of anything before you became a fan.

Look, I love Woodson, too. And I believe he should definitely be in the Ring of Honor. But to claim he was one of, if not the best defensive player for the Cowboys, shows complete ignorance of Dallas Cowboy history. For goodness sakes, he is only 3rd (at best) on the list of all-time great Cowboy safeties, much less defensive players in total - Mel Renfro (HOF class of 1996) and Cliff Harris (only defensive player voted to 1970's all decade team not in HOF - not just the only Cowboy, but the only player from any team) were both better. Then, you talk about Lilly, Howley, Randy White, Too-Tall and so many others over the years that statement just becomes ludicrous - to put it nicely.

You really need to read up on the history of "your team"!

I think McCoy just likes getting people stirred up. Woodson was perhaps the most underrated Cowboy of all time, and I'd love to see him on the ROH and in the HOF. If he wants to believe Woody was the best Cowboy ever, let hiim. He's either right or he's wrong, and if he's wrong, so what? It's not like any of us right all of the time. I don't agree with him, but I don't take offense to it either.

DJ Fluker, hands down. He wasn't even the best tackle on the team.

Well, he may not turn out to be all that, but what does your last statment have to do with anything? The other guy is awesome. Plus, Tyron Smith wasn't the best OT on his team either.
