I'm not as familiar with this crop coming out, but the positions we'll draft (assuming our current rookies become starters) include free safety, nose tackle and linebacker (Me thinks Parcells wants to get bigger in the linebacking corp). I don't think Parcells will turn down a big BRICK on the offensive line either.

Receiver is an after thought for Big Bill. And I personally think it's a very overrated position. The Pats have gotten by without taking a receiver in the first round, yet they have serviceable and capable receivers on their roster.

They also have Tom Brady. Unless your plan is to find one of those also, I don't think we can look to the Pats and say, that's how it should be done.

I like Vincent Young as a receiver in the second round. If Matt Jones can go in the 1st, then Young in the 2nd would be a good deal.

Holmes, really? Isn't he like a Soph this coming year? The Ohio St. WR right? That guy is very quick from what I've seen of him but he didn't strike me as a #1 WR.

So you really like him that much huh?
Yes, I liked what I saw of him last season and The Fiesta Bowl convinced me.

Amazing agility, a top notch athlete. Reminds me a little of somebody, hmm.

He's going into his junior year and this season will be the OSU lead receiver ..it remains to be seen if he will earn first round status, but I think he has unusual athletic talent. This year should prove it out, or otherwise.

LOL!!!!

That's funny. When I read that from you, I was thinking to myself, "reminds me of Glenn" but I didn't say it.

I haven't really watched enough of him to get a real good opinion of his capabilities but I'll have to pay closer attention. I don't believe he's the athlete Glenn was coming out. I think Glenn was much faster but we'll have to see. Holmes looks more quick then just flat out fast, to me. Glenn pretty much had both, I thought, coming out.

He's not as fast but he's the closest thing to being as acrobatic I've seen in ten years. He's still pretty raw tho.

But I got a feelin'.

I respect your opinion. I'll pay more attention this coming season.

Sure the Pats have gotten by but they still draft playmakers, Deion Branch was a second rounder as was Bethel Johnson. David Givens was a 7th and he has developed quite well. Troy Brown has played with them long enough and wasnt Terry Glenn a 1st round pick by our very own coach?

Ahh Lab, you know how to sweet talk fella. Ngata is the real deal at NT. I've watched him play several times at OSU and I agree. He is a perfect NFL NT.

Herian is interesting. The TE for Nebraska yes? I really haven't watched him much. What's your take on that guy?

Brooks goes without saying. He's a good LB, no question but Adrian Peterson.....

Oh, now your speaking to my heart. I know we have JJ. I know we just drafted Barber. I know all of this but Peterson, him I gotta thing for. It's a love hate thing. I just think he's the next really great RB. I love watching him play. The unfortunate thing is I'm a Texas fan and I don't know that I can forgive him for going to OU. Still, he's special. I would draft him in a minute regardless of need given the chance.

Pulling out Adrian Peterson.... that was dirty Lab.

I agree with Santonio Holmes, holmes. I think we should take Manuel Wright DT from USC, and Roscoe Crosbie in the supplemental draft. Wright and Crosbie need time to develope, but they both have big time physical skills. Let Wright be groomed behind our veteran DT's for a year or so, and he could develope into a dominating force by the time Furgeson starts slowing down. Same with Roscoe behind Key and Glenn, if he shows promise he could be our WR of the future with size, and holmes could be the speedy guy opposite him. Otherwise we could trade next years first for one of Detroits WR's.

I would love to get DE Mathias Kiwanuka from Boston College. I don't think we look at DE but he is a monster.

I like a few DTs. Chief among them would be Hloti Ngata from Oregon and Rod Wright from Texas. We'll need to replace Ferguson and Glover sooner than we want to think about now. Time to start paying attention to DT.

I'd love to get Ahmad Brooks the ILB from Virginia. He would be the icing on potentially the best LB corps we've ever had in Dallas. Won't happen though as i expect him to go top 5.

There are several OTs I like. This is the position that worries me. Eric Winston of Miami and D'Brickashaw Ferguson are bulldozers. Either one would thrill me.

I suspect WR will be our #1 focus. I'll go out on a limb and say we'll pick #27 and take Todd Watkins from BYU. You heard it here first. Not that it's worth anything.

Yep, Peterson is the best back I've seen in a L-O-N-G time. I sure am glad the Skins gave their pick to Denver so they don't have a chance at him. Think he'd be a perfect Gibbs power back? I don't even want to think about it.

Herian is one of those athletic TEs that I think would be a perfect compliment to Witten. Witten is big, strong, and fast in a straight line, and obviously an excellent player. But I don't see him ever being a big-play threat. Herian is the agile, speedy type who makes circus catches and can take a 10 yard pass 70 yards for a TD. He's probably more a mid-round H back type due to his size, but I think he'd still be big enough for Parcells.

BTW, will Reggie Bush be eligible? How could I forget him?

I actually don't have nearly as many favorites coming into this year as I did the last few years. Guess I have no choice but to sit on the couch and educate myself this fall. :)

Why don't we go best player available (within reason) and let the draft fall to us. This year we did that. We could have reached for safety help in the 2nd or 4th rounds but we sat put and took the BPA.

I think over the last few years, it's been easy to follow that approach. I think it's going to get more difficult here the next few drafts. We're really getting to the point where we only have a few week spots left. I think your draft stratigy changes just a bit when your at that point.

We will have to see what happens.

has 2 more years at OU. He will probably be the first pick of the 2007 draft.
You're right... Don't know why I was thinking true sophomores were eligible...
