Well, Roger will always be my favorite; I just don't see that ever changing. And no one is likely to replace Tony Dorsett as my #2 guy.

After those two there are a bunch of guys with Randy White near the top of the pile along with Harvey Martin, Drew Pearson, Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris. For some reason these guys are all just nearer and dearer to my heart than any of the 90's guys...many of whom I also love dearly.

For current players...Terrance Newman and Jason Witten.

When I was growing up, everyone wanted to be Roger in the backyard football games. I liked Roger and Tony, but my favorite two Cowboys as a kid were Everson Walls (# in my user ID) and Doug Cosbie (I played TE in junior high).

Even though he was a Giant at the time, I was really happy to see Walls earn a ring against the Bills. I'll admit up front that I don't know anything about him as a person.

I think the two Cowboys I am most proud of to have represent the team are Roger and Bob Lilly. Great players and great men. It's truly awesome when the greatness of a man transcends what he accomplishes on the football field.

I love My Gf, for sure! hahaha. but I really liked Emmit. In the present, I'd have to say: Terence Newman

Past:
Michael Irvin
, the heart of our team. Made some mistakes, but on gameday he was ready for war. I love him because he loved us, he loved the fans, he loved Dallas, he loved being a Cowboy and he still lives and dies with us on Sunday. I've met Mike before, he's cool as fan.

Troy Aikman, just a good ol' boy! I used to love seeing those 4th quarter shots of Troy on the sideline, lookin' cool, calm and collected, with a fat dip of Copenhagen in his lip and a spit-cup in his hand.:)

Present:
Roy Williams, a game changer, future HOF'er, well maybe not (east-coast bias).

DeMarcus Ware, soon to be our best player?

Terrance Newman, a good dude, always tries hard, works hard to get better.

Terry Glenn, when he's healthy, he amazes me.

Jason Witten, the quiet warrior.

Is this an appropriate thread for a sports team?

I love several of the Cowboys, but as of today, not one has returned my calls or written me back.

Believe your question is directed toward a secular perspective; specifically, football. Hence ...

Eagles ...Reggie White

Giants ...Lawrence Taylor

Commanders ...Doug Williams and John Riggins

Cowboys ...Tony Dorsett

How young must someone be to consider Aikman, Smith, et. al. "old school"?

Bob Lilly and Walt Garrison. Lilly of course was our 1st draft pick in franchise history and a great player and I just loved the toughness of Walt and being a real Cowboy made it even better
