which player(s) do you think are being offered for trade this morning? With about 3 hrs left till the deadline, I imagine a lot of calls are going round the NFL.

The two I see has most likely being shopped around are Carpenter and Marten. Maybe McQ.

What other players do you think are available for trade?

Not sure we have guys to trade unless someone knocks us over with something we need.

you will be pretty thin if carpenter is moved.

An offensive lineman, a corner, and a LB (not one of the top 7).

Tony Curtis is a possiblity, imo.

If you trade Curtis, do you then keep Hannah? We need three TE's.

Ogelsby looked real good this preseason. Certainly out played Ball or Brown.

One of the following; Proctor, Berger, McQ and Marten, is expendable with the Holland trade. I think Proctor is the least likely because he is the only center other than Guorode.

Is Henry expendable? Not in my opinion. But then, no one ever really valued my opinion here anyway. :p:

you got that straight!

j/k

but I think Jerry wants to keep 4 TEs, but w/ injuries to other positions and depth on the Oline being suspect, and the surplus of CBs, he trades one of them, my guess is Hannah

I agree with you. Henry is not expendable.

I'd say Ball, followed by one of the reserve guards.

Any CB besides Newman, Henry, Jones, Jenkins or Scandrick could be trade bait.

Either safties Brown or Dwoyne (sp?) Davis...or both if we resign Killa.

OLB Tearrius George could have given us some trade value with his last performance but I'd rather keep him and let Walden go.

Coleman at RB might get us a 7th...I don't know.

Hatcher maybe since he hasn't really panned out the way I thought he would.

Lots of possibilities on the bottom of the roster for conditional late round picks.

The thing about those guys at the bottom, they have no trade value. Who is going to trade for a guy you're going to cut? Coleman won't make the squad, even though he can play. Teams will wait for him to be cut and moved to the PS and grab him. Same with George and Davis.

Hatcher may be a possibility, but do we get ourselves in the hole with DL depth?

As far as CB's, I liked what I have seen from Ogelsby and think he sticks. But for the right player, I would trade him.

unless we were getting a stud receiver i wouldnt even think about trading henry. Alan Ball maybe for a veteran passed his welcome. I really hope we can do better at guard. And I hope we sign Colvin to shore up our linebackers. He can back up ware and ellis, and then we'll have four pass rushers when spencer gets healthy. Much rather have him there than a rookie right now.

My rule of thumb is if the starter is young, the backup needs to be a seasoned veteran. I don't want the person coming in because of an injury not knowing what he is doing, and if someone is going to be young, they need to be a starter, or backing up a veteran. (like ellis/spencer)

None of the guys mentioned here are worth squat in a trade, except maybe Carpenter, but we sure aren't getting our first back!

Yes.

Witten
Bennett
Hannah

I think Bennett makes Curtis expendable. I like Hannah.

I don't know what Curtis could bring in a trade. Certainly nothing to write home about.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I would not trade Curtis. He is the best blocker of all of our reserves.

Despite what some of you think, we have some players for whom we might be able to get a 7th rounder. Ball, Davis, Hannah, Coleman, Brown, George, etc., could generate such a pick. It's easy to say why pay anything for them when they'll be cut caused they could be signed for nothing. But that's only true if the player still available on the waiver wire when the team interested in him gets their chance. Better believe the Dolphins will be scanning the waiver wire for any former Cowboys they might want.

I wouldn't have thought Carpenter, but this rumor says differently:

http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125932

560 WQAM in Miami is reporting (unconfirmed at this point) there's a possibility Dallas and Miami are trading Bobby Carpenter for Ernest Wilford. Reports are that a deal is in the works. Wilford is a WR (6-5, 218) who Miami acquired from Jacksonville this summer and has so far been somewhat inconsistent in Miami's training camp.

I wouldn't mind this at all.
