Carp
Hannah
Curtis
Ball
Oglesby
Personally, I like both Curtis and Hannah at TE.
Jack-Reacher;2222895 said:I don't see Carp being traded for less than a first, or a receiver that has some serious upside potential. Carpenter would be starting on just about any other team in the NFL and he has shown enough to be worth more than a WR who has struggled thus far in Pre-Season. Just because fan perception is that he is a bust, does not neccesarily mean that he is percieved that way across the NFL as well.

560 WQAM in Miami is reporting (unconfirmed at this point) there's a possibility Dallas and Miami are trading Bobby Carpenter for Ernest Wilford. Reports are that a deal is in the works. Wilford is a WR (6-5, 218) who Miami acquired from Jacksonville this summer and has so far been somewhat inconsistent in Miami's training camp.
Carp is nothing more than a body on the depth chart. he's a below average LB and he's soft.theebs;2222727 said:If they pull the trigger on carpenter, I sure hope burnett is healthy. Or we are going to be chasing inside linebackers.
Alexander;2222702 said:I would not trade Curtis. He is the best blocker of all of our reserves.
Jack-Reacher;2222906 said:I wouldn't be shocked if it was a second, but the team holds on to him for anything less than that. I just think that this board seriously undervalues Carpenter because he hasn't lived up to what they think he should have been doing. I am not saying that he has been all-world, I just think that the fans are the only ones who have labeled him a bust.
I wouldn't trade him for Wilford. Our need at WR isn't a dire as some think.
Or so I believe...LOL
Jack-Reacher;2222929 said:Fair enough, I think that is a fairly accurate assessment, I just feel that many people assume that WP feels that same that they do. Everything we hear out of VR talks about how they like the kid. It is the fan base and the media who are doing most of the talking about what is wrong with him.
Him being soft is exactly what I see wrong with him, he doesn't seem to look to de-cleat anyone and he needs to chew some gun powder or something to make him a lot meaner.
Jack-Reacher;2222951 said:Valid points, and I agree that we can spot turds. I think we are thinking along the same lines, I am just not ready to label him as a bust yet. That isn't because I am holding out hope for him turning a big corner I just think we got what we drafted at the time, a middle of the pack LBer who will be servicable without being outstanding. Did we draft him too high? Of course, but that doesn't matter to me that much either, we do have a talented group of LBer's and I think what really screwed up his progress was not defining his position earlier. I never liked him on the edge and felt he should have been working inside all along.
