Who else remembers the last Cowboys/Lions MNF game?

I definitely remember. The Lions were wearing throwback uniforms. I had the feeling the Lions were going to keep it close and obviously they did and won the game. Scott Mitchell was the Quarterback maybe? It was either him or Dave Krieg. I remember they had Herman Moore and Brett Perriman as their starting wide receivers and of course Barry Sanders at running back. That was a pretty good offense back in the day

Scott Mitchell was their QB.

I blamed it on the throw back jerseys haha! I was nervous before that game, because those run and shoot offenses always gave us fits.

We were almost in scoring position in overtime with a first-and-10 at Detroit's 37 when Aikman had a pass batted into the air. Instead of knocking it to the ground, Derek Kennard caught it, then fumbled it away.

That game definitely brings back some memories for me. I remember I was dating a girl at the time and I was watching the game in her dorm room stretched out across her bed while she was typing a paper. I miss those College days.
The Cowboys lost the game but I ended up winning later that night.

I remember the uproar over Barry Switzer getting a sideline pass for Barry Sanders' father.

Classic game ruined by Lions throwback uniforms.

Barry outdueled Emmitt that night, but it was something to behold.

I remember it well. I got so mad when Broderick Thomas forced Troy Aikman to fumble to end the game that I punched the arm on my cheap recliner so hard that I badly bruised (maybe even chipped a bone) in my hand and it hurt for months afterwards. Since then I bought a quality leather chair with big overstuffed arms.

Quick story on Broderick Thomas....

When he played in Tampa I lived in Orlando and in 1990 he came out in the paper and flat out said "He had no respect for Emmitt Smith because he didn't deserve any."

When I read it I couldn't believe an NFL player would publicly say something like that so I cut it out and sent it to Joe Brodsky who was our RB coach at the time. I wanted to make sure it got read so I didn't send it to Jimmy.

Anyhow, We went into Tampa Bay, Isaac Holt had a pick 6. and beat them on a late TD to Michael Irvin.

After the game, the Cowboys locker room was a hornet's nest, all the players telling the media how the Bucs disrespected them. The following week I received a nice letter from Joe, thanking me for the article. He clipped it and posted in throughout the entire locker room and the players responded accordingly.

Joe has since passed away but it remains one of my favorite Cowboy memories and always appreciated him taking the time to do that.

Always liked Issac Holt aka the Gambler.

One of my earlier Cowboy memories was a game in '81 in which Eddie Murray pierced my 8 year old heart with a frantic FG as time expired. I remember praying in church that morning for a Cowboys victory. It fell on deaf ears that Sabbath. If memory serves Murray later kicked for the Boys as an elder statesman in the league.
