Who feels confident about going back to New Orleans?

OK, I'm going to do my own therapy here.

The Saints rank #25 on Defense (total yards allowed).

Of the top 15 ranked Offenses in the regular season, they only played one.

That would be us. (And, of course, they lost)

So, they've been playing some pretty sucky offenses, and have managed only to rank #25 on Defense.

True but they're dominating a very good offense today, in the playoffs.

I'll just be thrilled to be there because I think the Vikings are going to give us all we can handle. Beating the Vikings is going to be a lot tougher than a lot of people think (imo).

If we get to play the Saints, it will be a tougher game considering Shockey and Bush didn't play (Bush played a couple of plays and got I hurt) and you can see what a difference those two are making.

Nothing is easy from here on out, there is something scary about every team that is still in the hunt

Come on, you guys, say something to make me feel better!

If we win tomorrow, I have to live around this nonsense next week!!!! :nervous:
Ok then. We're gonna hit'em in the mouth!!! Bloody their lips.!!! Spank them for the sissy that they are!!! We are going down there and shut their whole damn city up!!! The disaster that was Katrina will be nothing more than a walk in the park when daboys get done with them!!!!!!!!! Screw the saints. Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does that make you feel better?

Sharper and Thomas both played. Sedrick Ellis and Jabari Greer were out though.

Plus Shockey was out and Bush left early

I wouldn't read too much into the pasting of the Cardinals. They are a notorious up and down team on both sides of the ball and their defense has forgotten to show up for the third week in a row. Outside of Fitzgerald they don't have one great player. Warner is great some of the time like last week but not most of the time and I think he can be intimidated which is his weakness.

I do think we could beat the Saints next week (assuming we get by Minnesota) but it is going to be harder than the first meeting. Our advantage is the confidence of a 5-game winning streak with a recent win against NO on the road, two drubbings of Pha who many had as the NFC favourite until we throttled them and a victory on the road against the previously unbeaten at home Minnesota (assuming the win tomorrow, of course).

I do think Felix will tear NO a new one unless they really commit extra effort to the run game as they look pretty bad in that aspect of the game. We also will try to play ball control against them like we did in week 15 and not get into a track meet which is what Az has tried to do. We go much deeper in the quality of our secondary players and have more team speed back there and 3 very good CBs. We can also rush the QB effectively without a blitz and I bet Brees still has nightmares of Ware and Spencer banging him around all-game long.

I'm not so brash as to say we will beat them again but I do think we have a good chance of repeating the earlier win. If anything we are playing better than we were at the first meeting and Felix is now the primary back. I would be surprised if we didn't score 34 points and I like our defense's chances of holding them under 24. The key will be neutralizing the crowd and avoid TOs against their opportunistic defense.

During the season, they were great at getting turnovers. You see that today. If they aren't getting turnovers, they have a hard time stopping anyone. But they were one of the best teams in the league at getting turnovers for a reason.

The only NFC teams to beat us this year were the gnats and cheeseheads....they're gone.

Brees doesn't wanna play our defense again...I can guarantee you that.

Get past the viqueens and we got this conference IMO.

GO COWBOYS!

:starspin

Their D can't stop our O, our D can contain their O, I like our chances. Minnesota is far more scary then the Aints

I'll tell you a great psychological reason this game helps the Cowboys. Now there is no pressure to bring it home. They already know they can win in Nawlins. Minnesota watching this, does not. Pressure moves to Minny big time.

It is just silly to be surprised that you have to play the best teams in less than favorable circumstances to get to the Super Bowl.

I'll take the NFC Championship Game in New Orleans in a heartbeat. We have a good team that can beat any team, home or away.

Believe.

Pretty sure the Iggles, Gints, and Patriots were top 15 offenses.

I do disagree with that. Favre can be baited into TOs in big games but the same isn't true of Brees. I like Brees' stable of WRs over the Vikings. I think the running attack of the Saints is actually better overall than the Vikings attack.

Defensively the Saints aren't as strong upfront but they are better as a group in the secondary.

Either way, these are two teams that are very good and got off to heart starts before stumbling a bit down the stretch while we are the team that has had a bit of a roller-coaster of a season but are peaking late. I would really like our chances if we had homefield but under the circumstances I would be extremely proud of this team if just gets to the NFCC game.

That's a great point. Never thought of it that way.

You're right, I guess we're screwed then.....I forgot about the Patriots and Giants. :anvil:

Without McNabb and/or Vick playing against the Saints, I can't really give the Eagles the credit they might have been due otherwise, however.

Losing the NFCC game ain't an option if it's against the Aints unless you really enjoy having a forum filled with those bandwagon trolls all offseason claiming that their 1 NFC Championship is the most impressive in history

Not worried about having to play Saints again if we beat Vikings. When we went to San Francisco and played in Candlestick Park in the early 90's I almost had panic attacks during the game.

Agreed. It took us a year to get rid of those trolls after they beat us in 2006. :laugh2:

Man, this is a tough tough road to the Superbowl. But I guess that is how it's supposed to be.
