Who gets left out for a new contract?

Ferguson and most likely Pickens.

Maybe Pickens gets franchised, but no way should ge be extended
An extension is manageable, a franchise tag isn't. With these crazy WR signings, the FT for WRs will be over 30M next year. You can't do anything to that number. Can't restructure, nothing. What the FT does great with is saving the owner actually money in his pocket. It's saves the owner like 70 million dollars. But it is terrible against the cap.

Of course you can pay them all, if you want to and their play warrants it. Ferguson would be a cheap resign after last year. Frankly, he will never be much better than he is, imo. As soon as our defense is in decent shape, we should be looking to get better at TE. Bland is not a top CB in the league, just a good one. He, like Diggs, is not even close to a shut down corner. They are both off the ball defenders who read the QB and get turnovers. Many teams don’t value off the ball defenders; they want press man CBs. Tyler Smith and Parsons are the only players on that list who are among the best at their positions, and we are lucky that Smith is a LG instead of a LT.
you're saying that, but what happens if these guys have SUPERB great seasons, then their value SHOOTS out the roof!!!

This is what drives me crazy. Tyler Smith is a top 5 Guard and is 24 years old. We already know we want to keep him. Why wait? It literally makes zero sense.

This kind of approach to running a modern NFL franchise is maddening.
TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you consider Smith a #1? It sure doesn't seem that he is, #1's these days are resetting the market, didn't lamb just say that pickens is a #1 also??? Doesn't mean anything unless he goes out and has a great year (which he'll probably do, and will want NOTHING short of 30 million!)

They all have agents.

The $$$$ won’t change.

I think with the egirls, Brown may go 2 games lowkey (while pouting) and Smith is lightning it up. So yes, I consider him a 1. With them they have a 1a and 1b not a 2. Yes Brown is more gifted but what you look at is, if Brown has a bad game can they still win and Smith has shown he can carry the load and there passing game doesn’t take a big hit at all.

All these guys are probable locks to get a new deal, imho.

Ferg walks because the Cowboys have shown to be fluid at TE to stay at a low cost.

Parsons isn't even a discussion, heck, I don't know why they haven't made his contract official yet.

Projected salary cap for 2026 is $295 mil and probably will be over $300 mil, so lots of ways to get around those salaries with bonus years and such.
I guess some forgot the salary cap goes up every year. Usually by a lot.

damn I wish we could have done that, could only imagine if we didn't have pickens and lamb went out, our offense would look like it never practiced passing a ball before to a receiver!
