Good games:

Jason Hatcher
Kevin Burnett
Anthony Henry

Mat McBriar

Drew Bledsoe
Marion Barber
Jamaica Rector

And who's almost certainly gone, simply because they didn't even get in the game:

LaShaun Ward
Matt Tarullo
Stephen Bowen
Justin Beriault (but we all knew that one already)...

I know Green hasnt had a great preseason but I would hate to see him go and dont think we should give up on him either.

from the impression i got on the recap thread earlier, it sounded as if Green was playing like someone knew they were about to lose they're job. making mistakes by trying to make something out of nothing...i'm sure he knows better than to catch a punt at the 5 yard line. he's probably better than that, but Parcells doesn't keep players that make mental errors like that, regardless of talent.

you are aware he already retired, right?

Not officially, he isn't... he's still listed on the roster over on dallascowboys.com, and he was listed as "Did Not Play" on the GameCenter stats recap of the game on NFL.com...

I'll go with a couple less visible guys just to mix it up a little.

I really thought Gurode played a great game. He got an excellent push in the running game just manhandling his guy a couple times including on Barbers TD run. And his line calls couldn't have been to bad either because I bet Bledsoe couldn't tell you the color jersys the passrushers were wearing.

On the flip side, at first glance it looked like Montavious Stanley struggled quite a bit. When Ferguson left the field it seemed to be quite a bit easier to get a push for the 9ers in the running game. Part of that could have been because they kept their 1st string offense in while we had our 2nd defensive unit on the field a possesion or two. I couldn't get a read on what his full body of work was, but I did see him get worked at least a time or two.

As far as who's getting cut I'll leave that to some others to debate.

Stanley just needs a year in our strength and conditioning program, I dont' think he's in danger of getting cut

I don't think he gets axed this cut, but I don't see us keeping both Pepper and him. And if that's the case I'd keep Pepper and hope Stanley clears waivers so he can be added to the PS. I agree with you I think his problem is primarily lack of strength.

It will take some time for Stanley to come into his own.

Carpenter's not like this at all. He's a bust. Send him packing.:D

I think we keep both him and Pepper, but then again, BP has said that he's thinking about moving a DE inside, and he brought up Ratliff, so that would negate the need for Pepper being on the squad since he's a similar up-field type player, I don't know what to think

Copper and Fabini look like thier gone. Green on the bubble, makes it through the first cut but last chance playing Minnesota.

Green did not show much this game, and made a bad decision as well. His draft status is really the what's giving him any chance right now. He has not played well enough to justify keeping. The announcing crew also alluded to some of his "immature behavior" in TC.

I think he should go to the practice squad, he just doesn't bring enough to the table right now, especially in comparision to Hurd and Rector. Given the injuries to TO and Crayton, the WR depth will be important, and even though I think the Cowboys will keep six, Green is too green.

as often as opponents have punted you'd think green woulda shown something by now.

with the way hurd and rector are playing so far - how do you keep green on the 53-man? won't happen.

practice squad if he clears waivers.

4th round draft choice will never make it to PS ......

Doesn't matter, if he can't do the job. They have really tried to make him their PR guy, but .... You have to make decisions on cutting your loses, and not throw good money after bad. I don't think Hurd or Rector will make it to the PS either.

Better off with a reliable 8 yard guy than a boom or bust rookie. I certainly wouldn't trust Green from what I have seen of him.

I am not arguing whether he should be cut or not .... just that we cant stash him on the PS .....

He would be signed within hours ....

I agree that the odds aren't good we'd get him to the PS, though I think that's really where he belongs. But you are right, perhaps on some teams he's the best option they'd have....
