There's going to be some good football players that don't make the final cut here...we are loaded at the LB, TE and WR positions.

Still worried about depth on the oline, but so far we have only given up what 3 sacks total?

DE looks pretty sexy as well.

I agree that the odds aren't good we'd get him to the PS, though I think that's really where he belongs. But you are right, perhaps on some teams he's the best option they'd have....

Blarg! The Cowboys have put enough of this guy on tape. He's not going to be picked up as a returner, that's for sure. He's shown nothing at all with nearly all of the return reps.

As a WR, even Parcells says he's can't contribute at all. He's gone, and he'll make it to the practice squad, too, if we really want him there.

# 86 is a POS!. He droped 2 easy balls from romo and caused an INT. get thatbackup out of Big D.

Rector is a player!...

I think we keep both him and Pepper, but then again, BP has said that he's thinking about moving a DE inside, and he brought up Ratliff, so that would negate the need for Pepper being on the squad since he's a similar up-field type player, I don't know what to think
If he moves Ratliff inside then we keep Coleman (a player that Parcells seems to like) and Stanley will have to go. Ratliff is on the team so the choice is between Stanley and Coleman. Hopefully we can trade Coleman for a draft pick somewhere and keep Stanley. I think he will be good with some technique work and some strength and conditioning work.

Of course #86 is a TE and Rector is a WR so getting rid of one might not translate into keeping the other.

Green did not show much this game, and made a bad decision as well. His draft status is really the what's giving him any chance right now. He has not played well enough to justify keeping. The announcing crew also alluded to some of his "immature behavior" in TC.

I think he should go to the practice squad, he just doesn't bring enough to the table right now, especially in comparision to Hurd and Rector. Given the injuries to TO and Crayton, the WR depth will be important, and even though I think the Cowboys will keep six, Green is too green.

Green was not drafted to be a WR ,, he was drafted to be a return guy. I don't think he figures into the WR battles tha are going on. Now he did make a rookie mistake by taking the ball at the 5,, but he is a rookie. He is not doing as bad as some think. His return average is better than any PR we have had in several years. I think he makes the team. No matter how good the return guy is, if the blocking is not there,, he wont be able to show much. Just about every punt in the second half last night was inside the 10 yd line, not much he can do with those.

4th round draft choice will never make it to PS ......

I agree. Just give him some time; I think he need at least a year before we give up on him.

On a side note, does anyone remember last year when Barber (last years 4th round) was injured and many were suggesting that he was a bust and needed to be sent to the practice squad? I am glad we didn't....

Hopefully, Greene has a similar growth spurt and turns out to be a winner for us.

Hannam was signed primarily to be a blocker. I doubt seriously he's going anywhere.

On the flip side, at first glance it looked like Montavious Stanley struggled quite a bit. When Ferguson left the field it seemed to be quite a bit easier to get a push for the 9ers in the running game. Part of that could have been because they kept their 1st string offense in while we had our 2nd defensive unit on the field a possesion or two. .

gee ya think?

that said, it seemed to me like Stanley was moving around pretty good out there and was really active...

:

86 is Hannam, who hasnt dropped a pass this preseason...Hannam has 3 or 4 catches now and a couple of those were nice catch and runs

89 is the guy who dropped two passes last night, incl the ball that was picked off...thats Tony Curtis

I think there is a lot of merit in that.

I think we try to make do this season and draft another NT very early in the '07 draft.

I think Green will make the first cut, but I will be suprised if he's still around at the start of the regular season. He may go to the PS, but so far, he hasn't shown me much of anything in terms of being a worthwhile option as a return guy.

I can't believe no mention of McQuistan (whatever it is)...that kid is so much better than Pettitti it's not funny.

I think we keep Adams, Columbo, and McQ.....if we keep a 4th OT, it will be close between Fabini (who currently is better than Pettitti on either side) and Pettitti (who is younger)....I'm betting Parcells keeps Fabini and cuts Pettitti.

The TV crew last night credited Hannam with that drop that led to an interception. I believe he's dropped at least one other pass, but I'm not sure. Curtis did have a couple of drops last night, as well. I had hopes for him.

actually, they both dropped passes last night. one each on the second to last drive of the game. #89 Curtis dropped one over the middle and got popped pretty good. but the one that resulted in an interecption WAS #86 Hannam.

not that i think either should be cut.
