Yes I know he was actually taken out by his own man but it has been a recurring theme throughout his career but especially this year. Lots of defenders need to take a play or two off after tackling Zeke.. It's so much fun to watch him punish defenders. I know it's not sexy as a 30 yard run.. but if you've ever toted the rock, it's every bit as much fun to truck a fool as it is to outrun him. Come to think of it.. it's MORE!

Take it easy Thad

I'd appreciate the play more if Zeke had run for a nice gain

Didn't one of the guys beat his blocker and get into the backfield and Zeke dragged him for a positive gain which necessitated another guy coming over to try and help? It was a play that could have gone for negative yards that Zeke turned into a positive. In short.. it WAS a decent game under the circumstances.

I believe so. I'm just saying I applaud plays that work over plays that get someone injured. IMO, cheering for an opposing player to get injured is akin to cheering for a someone getting hurt in a car accident.

As I said.. if Davis was seriously injured I would not have said anything. After I got the news that in the words of my day "just got his bell rung" I feel like he will be fine. Football players get hit in the head 50 times a game. Sometimes it's a little harder than others.. but watching that play I didn't feel like his was serious.. Still don't. I don't cheer for injuries.. but we all cheer for big hits. Sometimes the latter results in the former. That's football.

But my point about this and other instances where defenders have gotten hurt tackling Zeke is because it frequently requires more than one to get him down and a lot of times that second and third defender ends up hitting his own man. If that first defender had been able to get Zeke to the ground that second collision that took Davis out never happens. Which again goes back to his running style taking a toll on the defense. That is what I celebrate. Defenders getting up wobbly is just an added bonus.

I laugh at the Eagles after what their coach did after the first game against the Cowboys. What goes around comes around.

I laugh at them after what the fans did cheering Michael Irvin's career ending injury.
I don't wish them injury, but I dang sure don't mind it either. Against the team, not the player though.

“Guys, isn’t great to see Zeke scoring on those 80 yard runs? I know he didn’t really do that but isn’t Zeke awesome?!?” —Ronald

no more big stats for zeke but yes so those are satisfying like the 22 yard run was pretty and TD run was good..I hope he gets to 11 straight games with td record 22 owns. hes got 8 now needs 3 more. i guess he cant get that this year with only 2 left.

It was a friendly fire injury. Zeke didn’t have much to do with it…his teammate missing Zeke and headbutting him in the jaw was the cause.

You can't bring yourself to admit that Zeke has been responsible for taking out like a dozen defenders this season fine.. Fine don't give him this one.. So it's only 11 I guess. Happy?
Dude, just don’t spout off nonsense. Zeke is a tough guy to tackle. He’s very physical. He had nothing to do with the injury to the Eagles DT.

I think you are reaching a bit on this one. I'd much rather see Zeke outrun defenders than punish them. And on this play, like you said, it wasn't Elliott doing the punishing, it was the other defender trying to make the tackle.

speared him right in the chest

Ronnie has a man crush on Zeke. It’s something to do with the fraternity of running backs. ;)

Listening to Jimmie Johnson’s new autobiography right now and he just finished the section about the Herschel Walker trade. Listening to his evaluation on Herschel Walker, living on past laurels, still impressive athlete, still good but not great, and what he didn’t like the most was that Herschel would go into the defenders instead of trying to avoid them. Sort of made me think about our boy Zeke. Any Minnesota GMs out there who will give us a bunch of draft conditional bench warmers?

And I admit it, I’m not on any high pedestal, I freaking love watching power backs get up and shake it off, while everyone else is on the ground wondering what just hit them.

earl campbell , marion barber 2 backs who shortened their careers by punishing defenders

Emmitt was very smart in his running style and to me enabled him to prolong his career. Also helped that he had a great line and fullback to open good running lanes

Actually yes he did.. Davis was getting dragged forward by Zeke and not getting him to the ground so the other guy came to help. If Zeke just goes down at first contact the second defender never comes and neither does the headbutt. Being hard to tackle had everything to do with it.

A defender a couple of years ago, said Zeke was a beast to tackle and brings a wallop with him everytime.

With all do respect that was 25 years ago and a good portion of those idiots cheering are not even alive today. Some cowboy fans, use that day as a reason to lower their moral standards as if it is justified. Please stop blaming people for the sins of their father. To be fair, this isn’t really towards your post as it wasn’t that bad. The Santa and Irving thing is just beating a dead horse and is an excuse at this point.

No offense but you really have gone over the edge in ways to praise Zeke. Now you are celebrating a guy getting hurt because another player had to help him tackle Elliott. Yikes.
