many qb's do same thing, it depends on how much time they have, which usually isnt much.
A QB can be sacked or running fro D linemen etc before they have time to go to 2nd read or a 3rd read.
This is all on the oc and general offense guys and HC, to work out these issues which they usually cant.
Did you see the play last Sunday where Dak rolled right with a DL in slow-but-determined pursuit, as Dak surveyed the field of receivers in fire-drill mode? After what seemed an eternity - Dak took a sack when he was well-outside the tackle box.

Sailing a pass safely out of bounds would have been the decision of any DECENT high school QB. This is the kind of mental dropoff Cowboys get from Dak when he goes into ‘deer-in-headlights mode’. It’s indefensible for an 8-year starter to make THAT kind of boneheaded play.

Enough, already!

Lot of media out there pointing out that teams have caught on to Daks tendencies to read the defense and react according to how the Tex Coast offense is designed. Green Bay simply schemed to confuse his reads knowing this, MM refuses to mix things up or adjust and you get what we saw.

Not trying to completely absolve Dak, but he is playing within the scheme as designed.
and if he could turn around and hand it off to someone and get 4.5 yards a carry....MOST of our problems will be solved. We (Dallas) got fooled into thinking he can carry a team. He cannot. He can beat up on bad teams. And that's good. Winning a Super Bowl requires you to beat 4 teams. The majority of them will be the best players, coaches and gameplans. Dak cannot overcome an average defense and a non-existent running game. It's one things for FANS to be fooled. But all of those football "minds" in Frisco should know what he is and what he isn't. They should know what the team is and what it isn't.

San Francisco was not stunned with what they did to us in the playoffs 3 years ago. And has promplty beat us 2 times since (once again the playoffs)
Green Bay is not stunned with what they did to us the other day.
The only people stunned are the people in Dallas. And that should tell us everything we need to know about the football minds in Dallas.

Is it the OC/the head coach/QB coach? These year after year struggles obviously aren't being addressed. Sure he's the face of this team, but still he's not above being coached up. At year 8 this shouldn't be an issue. I think this summer instead of having players over to get timing down etc, he needs to lock in and focus on the SMALL things that he needs to work on, please give your thoughts.
Coogs I'm going to tell you I don't know if you do any hunting but it's kind of like trying to coach somebody through Buck fever

They can practice at the range be dead on shooting bullseyes but when all that white bone comes in front of them their brain turns to mush.
And the proper mechanics of shooting that they have practiced over and over and perfected go out the window and they make a bad shot.

Same thing can happen to a quarterback trying to win a playoff game he can be perfect through the regular season and in practice but when it comes to winning a playoff game the reward is just so big that it makes all their decision making skills and throwing mechanics suffer.

Just like with the big buck the anxiety surrounding failure makes it impossible for them to do their best work.

The cure is if you're in the position enough times you eventually develop the proper nerves to conquer the situation but the length of time that takes is different for everyone but it can be accomplished.

His PR team but don’t worry, he’ll have that new contract soon.

If that's the case, and I'm not saying it isn't .. WHY do these shortcomings seem to work so well during the regular season? Is it simply a factor of playing better teams? Would seem to me that if all one has to do is disguise pre and post snap coverages, EVERY professional team might manage that?

What I saw on the sidelines after GB scores first, was a Dallas QB who was scared to death. His eyes were as big as saucers; even remarked to people in the room that, "Dak's terrified. We're toast."
Who remarked, "Dak's terrified. We're toast.", and in what room?

we need a CMC type of player to hide the deficiency with Dak. 49ers got him to protect Purdy, JJ is too stupid to understand sometimes you need to do this.

I've said it for the past couple seasons; attempt to bring in Kurt Warner at least for the offseason, and have him work with Dak. It may not change anything, but it's worth a shot to try something other than the status quo, and offer a fresh perspective.
Additionally, if the opportunity arises to take a solid prospect in the 1st or 2nd round, pull the trigger and put some heat on Dak via some potential competition.

There is no fixing it. Look at his scouting report. Same issues as then. He's just played on really talented teams that have allowed him camaflouge it against below .500 teams. Some guys have the god given skill, Dak isn't bad, but he doesn't have that next level skill. Some things can't just be taught.

Ok, so why watch? Why follow the team? It's the same question I asked my twin brother. Dont people get ired of itching, moaning and nonstop complaining? Why be miserable?
Because i'm a fan of the Cowboys. I'm a fan of the players. I'm not some dope who just roots for the "star". I like Dak. I like Lamb. I like Micah. I like to see these guys do well. That doesn't mean I don't want better. I stopped financially supporting this team years ago. If they get my Nielsen rating viewership then so be it. That's all they get from me.
