Historically, it has and always will be the Skins. Allen vs Landry, Thiesman vs White, etc. 49ers is obvious.

I'd say it's been the Giants since 07. They stopped us from going to the SB that season. Not to mention they've got two SB's since.

I realize they can't get out of their own bleepin way sometimes. That said, I am looking to discuss other teams.

Your thoughts?

I live in NY so I will say the Giants, but I totally agree with you about the Skins. If you go by history there is not doubt it's the Skins.

Steelers - always the Steelers - I think those wins give me the most joy - Their fans are just so annoying!

We don't play the Steelers often enough for them to be our biggest rival. In fact, mathematically speaking, I am rooting for Steelers (and all AFC teams) when they play an NFC team other than us.

The team's greatest current rival was their first historic rival. They defeated the Cowboys for the NFL championship in back to back years in the late 60's. In both contests the Cowboys lost on the last play. To make matters worse, the winner played in the first two ever Super Bowls, before the merger. The Cowboys were just a few plays away from the SB trophy being called "The Landry".

The Cowboys greatest rival is the team that destroyed a desperate Cowboy team halfway through the 2010 season, resulting in Jerry Jones firing Wade Phllips. To make it even worse, the Super Bowl was in Dallas that year amd guess who came to town as the NFC champs. To add insult to injury, a Broadway play about their iconic head coach of the sixties debuted. The backdrop was those championship games. Imagine a Broadway play in which Tom Landry ia the bad guy!

It is the same team that recieved two more miracles, responsible for the Cowboys last two playoff defeats. Seemingly magical seasons ended on a catch that should have been and a catch that, 9 out of 10 times, would never have been.

The Commanders are a pest, the Giants are a temporary annoyance, the Steelers are declining, the 49ers are a joke, the Eagles wamt to be the Cowboys.....

.......But the Packers want historical relevance, nobody cares about the championships they won when there were 3 teams in the league so they want to take championahips away from the Cowboys.

I have multiple answers for this one:

Historical Rival: Commanders.

Fan's Rival: Eagles (voted the most disliked by Cowboys fans, if I recall a recent poll correctly)

"Players" Rival: Giants. Since the days of Brandon Jacobs, the Giants have been unable to keep their mouths shut concerning the Cowboys.

Postseason Rival: Either the 49ers or Packers. I hated San Francisco in the 1990's more than any of our NFC East rivals. And the Packers are becoming the bane of our playoff existence as of late (Dez still caught it).
