Have you seen Hankins' reported asking price? I'm guessing not.

Eh were going to get 14 million in June when we cut Romo. I have no problem giving hankins a 1 or 2 year contract for 8 million. We did it with hardy and it didnt work out but we didnt have any negative long term effects of that contract.

He's looking for $10 million a year. And where are you getting $14 million for Romo?

If romo is a june 2nd cap cut the team saves his 14 million dollar base salary this year by releasing him. We could easily pay Hankins a one year deal with that.

I'm guessing they will expect/hope for Thornton to step into a larger role while Paea backs him up. Doubt this position is addressed at all in the draft.

Rich got richer when Poe went to the Falcons. He is a dynamic player who needs to be properly utilized. I would have rued the comp pick loss but I would have preferred we sign Poe.

That's a good question that we don't have a good answer to on this team, yet. Let the FO finish buying the groceries and the coaching staff finish cooking the dish before asking such questions.

Why would you pay $10M? The fact that he's priced himself out of the market for the entire league should tell you something.

I'd add him but only at a reasonable value. Romo's release should have zero to do with it.

I really don't think run stopping will be the biggest issue for this defense... pass def, pass Rushing, will probably be bigger issues as of right now.

Exactly.

This offense is going to take other teams out of the running game.

And on top of that you only have a handful of teams that really push the running game.

I'm sure it's not a popular opinion but I'm really not worried about DT, we're fine there. Could be better of course, but pretty far down the list of needs imo. We only need Thornton/Paea to play so many snaps on running downs. Collins, Irving, and Crawford will handle the important passing downs and provide pressure. If we were going to hand out a decent contract in free agency (too late now anyway), $ would have been much wiser spent at DE, CB, or S. We're lacking in those areas a lot more

The 1T is probably the least significant position in this scheme and to spend big money on it would cost them in the more important positions.
