Who is next years Shanle?

What were Rob Petitti combine numbers?...........I think you get my point.

Are you implying his times have improved due to better conditioning?

Not necessarily with the team, I know one prominent agent very well

Say hello to Carl and Kevin Poston for me. :D

Colombo.

I feel he could return to former 1st round draft pick form and compete for PT.

Nice try but nope i don't know him.........He did pay for a meal and drinks I had at Mortons because my buddy signed a prospect he was after. I think they had a side bet. I was lucky enough to be part of what agents call a "successful recruiting party" about 3 years ago.

Funny thing 3 of the 5 guys he signed that year are no longer in the league. :D

:hammer: including his overall abilities.

Sorry.....I'm just a stickler for details.

10/05/2004 - PORTLAND STATE senior tight end TONY CURTIS currently weighs in at 6051, 251 lbs with 4.75 (E)...athletic young player with upside...still rounding into the position...has 3 catches on the young season for 42 yards...in 2003 he had 9 catches for 73 yards as the Vikings used an array of TE's....previously played two seasons at FRESNO COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

Are you saying this guy is up 20 lbs. in 13 months and runs faster than Witten when he couldn't do it at 251?

Now, if he's back down to 250 range and running 4.65-4.75 that's great. I'm all for another receiving threat at the TE position.

Something's not adding up though.

That we can even have this discussion speaks to the quality of BP's coaching and talent evaluation.

Can you imagine developing players like this with Switzer or Campo at the helm?

Well if you were a stickler for details you'd know that even if someone gained weight it doesn't necessarily mean they would slow down.

A stickler for detail would know that muscle weighs more than fat.

So infact he could have shown up at the combine weighing 250lbs, but be out of shape or not in football shape......... came to the Cowboys got into football shape and gained more muscle which weighs more than fat.

More muscle means more power, better conditioning, sometimes translates into faster times (like in Curtis case).

You don't have to believe me. Just wait until next year. We can have another "What a difference a year makes thread" :)

Campus Agility Test: 4.92 in the 40-yard dash…350-pound bench press…475-pound squat…300-pound power clean…34-inch vertical jump…Right-handed…16/24 Wonderlic score.

NFL Combine: 6-5 269 pounds. 4.98 in the 40-yard dash…2.89 20-yard dash…1.73 10-yard dash…9’7” broad jump…Bench pressed 225 pounds 21 times…33-inch arm length…9 ¾-inch hands…15 Wonderlic score.

Ok mister detail guy. Was trying not to be a dick about it.

Please explain how putting on 20 lbs of "muscle" made Curtis over 2 tenths of a second slower over 13 months, yet he's faster than any TE on our roster in your mind?

Thank God for the rest of the league we haven't unleashed him on our opponents.

Well.. the problem here is that there has to be a spot for this person to play, at least in rotation. The name that I haven't seen mentioned is one that will have trouble seeign the field because of depth...

Pepper Johnson... that guy was quick and for a big man.

Beriult has a good chance because of lack of depth and ST play... probably your best bet.

I doubt Shanle will declare for draft. Better off to get his Senior year in.

Unless a kid has a chance to be a top 10 pick I would advise them to stay in school. Also I agree with a comment a couple of weeks back, when it comes to QB they all should stay in school for the final year. After the comment they showed all the QB’s who came out early and bombed.

oh god were gonna have a team full of shanle's if nors was the gm.
