I disagree. Owens might say he wants to win, but his own accolades are far more important than the team winning when it comes down to it.

Irvin once went a game against the Cardinals when his consecutive game streak was snapped. He did not create a fuss and was fairly calm about it considering. Put Owens in that same situation and you will get a different result.

They might both be "passionate" and like winning, I think Michael Irvin was a smarter social creature. Owens has yet to figure out how to play nice in the sandbox. I honestly think Michael wanted to be liked. That trait was over everything he did, even down to the legendary White House. I don't believe Terrell Owens actually cares if anyone likes him or not and at times he thrives on being unpopular.

What part did you disagree with?

We had a head coach doing that but apparently he was too demanding and made everyone miserable.
Including the fans.
Parcells is a good coach. But his stubborn insistence to his old defensive scheme is what ultimately hurt this team.
Look at the last month of last season....our defense is what consistently let us down time after time.
Drafting Bobby Carpenter should have alerted everyone that we were not going to be an aggressive defense.
How many times did you see us go up by 10 pts and then try to run it down the other teams throat only to watch us lose in the end?
Conservative man!
I give the guy credit for getting the talent on this team, but I always felt we underachieved after Parcells first season with us.
I hate watching the Cowboys play with a "Trying not to lose" mentality.
Anyone who watched that Seattle playoff loss knows what I am talking about.

To me our weakest link is that we do not have an emotional leader on the team that everyone rallies around. They're all quiet, even tempered, good guys and decent players, but no one is in everyone's face demanding more.

We haven't had a true team leader since Darren Woodson retired.

Agreed Hostile. But I have one for you..Ken Hamlin. I lived in Seattle and was spoonfed more Seahawks football than I care to mention. But Hamlin is a huge emotional leader and backs it up with his play. He gets everyone fired up (even the fans). I just hope he brings the same in-your-face attitude and play to Dallas.

I think he's the answer to our prayers for both an emotional leader as well as a true (and excellent) Free Safety. I'll eat crow at the end of the season on this if I'm wrong, but everything I've seen from him makes me overjoyed that he's a Cowboy.

On offense, my guess would be Tony Romo will step into more of a leadership role. Bringing both his contagious confidence and, based on my own assumption, I think he'll be more outspoken and in command in his second season. Albeit, we still don't have a true fired-up emotional leader on offense yet IMO...ala Michael Irvin.

I'm not sold on Hamlin but I hope what you've said about him is true and will bring that same attitude with Cowboys. I'd be happy with him being effective FS but anything more than that is gravy.

Watching Hamlin what I saw from him is that he plays like he cares. He's a bit of a pain -- he pushes, he shoves, he gets in the opponent's face.

Good, we need that and I hope he'll continue to play like that but what I really want to see is him being effective FS. That position has been our weak link for something and we need him to strengthen that position, very badly.
