Who is the best run NT, Grant/Williams/Collins?

I don't see Williams getting out of the top 50, matter of fact Collins could be the same.
Grant will probably go top 20 and could even be the pick at 12. We have shown interest. I think Williams is a 25-32 but could possibly slip to the early 2nd. I see Collins as a solid 2nd. Could see him going before 44 if Williams goes 1st.

Don't sleep on Deone Walker from Kentucky. Big boy that definitely stops the run and can be had in 3rd-4th round. If there is a way for Dallas to accumulate picks with trade down he should be a definite target.

I like Deone Walker, he is quick for his size with great feet..........but he has no anchor in those feet, and plays with pads to high most of the time.

He is a huge 3T who can win if you can get him 1v1, has excellent length and can stop the run because of it, but doesn't hold doubles and shorter guards usually get under his pad and have leverage on him.

Can he fix these issues without losing his best asset of size/quickness?

We need size inside. His quickness and having Micah, Fowler, Williams and others on the line will prevent double teams. Not to mention putting Thomas next to him will give offensive lines fits.

If there was a DT to target he is the guy. Targeting him allows you to plug other holes with 3 prior picks.

Yes, but if it is Osa, Walker on the inside, if I was the OC -- I run right at them. Double Walker off his feet, and slip the center to pick up the Mike. Osa gets 1v1 on my guard who will out weight him by 40 lbs most likely.

I run off tackle if it is Walker at 1T and Micah on his side. Pull offside guard, seal Osa with center, tackle rides Micah high, that leaves my left guard 1v1 vs DWalker and all he has to do is seal. I block the Will with the guard, and use motion to get TE to seal back the Mike.

If DWalker learns to anchor though.............both plays are stopped.

Now if he is the 3T -- total different story

I have a feeling Dallas is not going to be taking a DT until the 5th round, maybe later. The HC thinks you build a team from the skill positions first so I don't expect any of the top DTs to be wearing a Dallas uniform next season. However, there are some decent DTs that might be available in the 5th round.
that is horrifying

It’s horrifying. But it’s reality. We know it’s not great. They don’t agree.

3T- Osa, Thomas, Turner can get snaps at the 3T
1T- Mazi, Rogers

If you think they plan on drafting a 1 tech early, save your time in a few weeks

Deone Walker was my pet cat a couple of months ago
But what I have found out since means I am not enthusiastic about him

Top Corner, DT, LB and RB could all be in play at 44. I truly believe they are going WR in rd 1.

I haven't seen anyone say Grant is more of a 3T. To me he is a pure 1T. His comp to me is Daron Payne.

As for run defending I would say Grant is the best of the three with Williams and Collins still being very good
I have heard this throughout the process that Grant isn't just a 1, but many view him as a big 3T.

Maybe that evaluation is as something he could develop into. For right now he has no technique as a penetrator, so him playing any 3T could be a couple years off

Cowboys focus has to be about fixing their run defense with the resigning on Osa and adding Thomas via fa. All they have really is Mazi at the position who has been average at best as a starter. They still could go the fa route and bring back at player like Hankins or someone similar or they can look to shore it up for the future.

Who is the best run NT in this year's class?

-Kenneth Grant Michigan-many believe he is more of a big 3T with his athleticism.
-Tyleik Williams Ohio State-has anchored the Ohio State run defense in their 4 man front
-Alfred Collins Texas-is more of a two gap, traditional 3-4 NT
It's very difficult to say when you are dealing with big fat guys.

He needs technical work period. He has a ton of athletic traits to mold and just doesn't know how to use them yet.

On the plus side with him he is much more advanced than Smith was. Grant can come right in and stop the run. Even that was a projection with Smith as he was an erratic run defender at Michigan

I think the 1st two are far more athletic then those usual NT's types.
Yup. Grant is a monster athlete. Williams is a very good athete too. Williams could develop somewhere between Alim McNeal and Dalvin Tomlinson. Collins might be more of a Travis Jones, which is still a pretty good player
