Who is the man on our defense?

I guess you just hit on my point. Why do we need to get someone from the outside to bring the dog out of an already good defense. It should already be in the locker room. I don't want him, but Merriman is a man. I think thats why you see him in the pro-bowl, because he lokks to hit anything.
Because BP likes character guys, and anyone that's a mean mofo, he's not going to mess with him. Let's put Keyshawn and LA on defense.

I disagree. BP like football playing jesse's. Bryon Cox was the biggest thug that made plays and BP loved him. Not to mention LT.

Ware will be the man, and if we get this kid Slay from Texas Tech then watch out, his draft stock is low because this is his first year starting but all he does is make plays and is probably the hardest hitter in the country

Outside of the pre-season game with the Texans, I didn't see Roy get into one altercation. He held back Steve Smith when Davis got into it with Davis vs. Car., but that wasn't a face to face, "I'm not backing down" confrontation that our defensive leader needed to do type altercation I'm talking about. Hell even when he stepped on Smith's leg when Smith got thrown out of the game, Roy looked at the ref like he needed some help.

so basically, you want hoodlums on the team?

you see Roy WIlliams in the Pro Bowl, and he looks to hit everything...

he hasn't really delivered any of his big hits this year except for the one on mccown(didn't have the ball), kevin jones(was blocking), jeb putzier(was blocking)

he laid Ashley Lelie out, had the boy dazed and confused

Roy's teammates have said that his hitting sets a tempo for them, so if that's not being the "MAN", I don't know what is...

roy is my favorite player after ware, but i think a lot of people will agree that he hasn't been as indimidating this season as he has been in the past. we thought that the change to strong saftey would make him more aggressive but it really hasn't

I still see the same intimidating Roy Willliams, and he made more plays sticking him back at SS, so as far as I'm concerned, he's the man

For one, I don't see the need to have someone labeled "the man". As I recall, it's still a team sport. I mean, it's kind of funny that for most of the teams mentioned, "the man" was a collection of two or three or four guys. Why can't it be that way here in Dallas?

With Roy Williams, Terence Newman, Demarcus Ware, Bradie James, and Anthony Henry, the Cowboys have the makings of a very good defense. In fact, it's already a very good defense. After filling a couple of holes and gaining some experience, it could be a great defense - with a bunch of "men".

Right now, the man is Roy, but the defense will never be what we really want it to be until there's a MAN at LB.

Exactly, you don't have to be a thug to be a man. Its just someone that wont let his team be intimidated. I.E. - Ray Lewis.
