Who do you feel has shown the most improvement from last season to this year? For me, Defense: Brady James and Offense:TO

Offense: Jason Witten, he scored 1 TD last year

Defense: Anthony Henry/Bradie James, can't decide between the two

I don't think that was Witten's fault. I'm not sure whose fault it is, but we did hear all offseason about how the passing scheme change would put much more focus on the TEs, which leads me to believe that the increased TDs has more to do with scheme change than player development.

Offense: Terrell
Defense: Bradie

Ironically, my reply about Witten could very much apply to Bradie. Oh well. :D

Offense: Romo (He is just flat out better than he was last year)
Defense: Bradie

If you look at Romo's statline it's remarkably similar to last year. I think he's still basically the same guy. The difference is that the defense is getting off the field and giving him the ball more. It's also allowing us to just run out the clock late in the game, whereas last year Romo was having to make heroic 4th quarter drives nearly every game (leading to more late INTs, etc.)

Offense: Flozell Adams (being farther removed from knee surgery is a factor)
Defense: Brady James (this is a no doubter)

Most stats mean absolutely nothing to me when judging how a player is performing. The main stats? Wins and losses. The guy is winning games this year. He has always had to ability to make big plays, but what he is also doing is making the small plays to keep drives going. He is playing 100% smarter football this season. Last year he wasn't a $67.5M QB, this year, he most definitely is.

It's hard to say what player has improved the most (though T.O.'s drops have declined), but it's easy to say what position has improved the most - RG.

I can agree with this. Romo has really taken on a leadership position with this team, and Bradie James doesn't look as lost as he did at the end of last year.

Offense: TO - he's elevated his game to a level I didn't think was possible at his age. Honorable mention to Flo, who is the NFC's best OT, IMO.

Defense: I'd have to say the ends, and mainly Chris Canty. The easy choice is probably Bradie James, since he was horribly exposed late in the year - but he started ok IMO. Canty and Spears have been invisible since their entrance into the league, but now they are out there making plays. They've definitely stepped up their game.

I'm surprised there's not more consensus on the most improved offensive. My list starts with Tony and ends with Romo. There are a lot of other guys on offense who are having great years (Owens, Witten, Adams, Davis, even Crayton and Barber and Jones) and that's a big reason why the offense is so good this year.

But the guy who's improved the most is Tony Romo. You've go to go back and watch him last year, and not just TEK2000's video tribute, either. He used to struggle with the decision to run or pass. He used to miss guys going across the middle. His protection is a LOT better this year, too, but that doesn't completely explain the improvement in his decision making. His accuracy has actually improved this year, too.

Defense, I gotta go with Jacques Reeves. This guy was nowhere last year. I didn't even think he'd be in the NFL in 2007. :abuseme:

Win/Loss ratio is about as far removed a stat you can get to show individual performance. Yet for some reason it's the only stat you look at?

Not the only stat. Look at Vince Young. He is a horrible QB if you look at his stats and QB rating, but damnit he wins games and when the day is over thats what matters.

No, he doesn't win games. His team does. Often in spite of him.

On defense I'm going to go with Bradie James and on offense I've seen a step-up in both TO and Witten as well.

Romo - The training wheels are off this year. There is no doubt he is better... if for no other reason... more real time experience and OC that knows what he is doing. Romo is smart.

I think scheme and focus is on TO and Witten this year. They were already great players.... I dont think there is any improvement. We all knew what they could do. Now they are being put into positions where they can be most successful.

Marion Barber - more of the same from last year... what can I say?.... he is more beastly this year LOL

I choose TO and James as the Most Improved as for Tony Romo I see him as the overall teams MVP. At the rate he is going he will break many Cowboy records this year and has shown himself as the leader of this team.

Really? They were 3-13 in 2005 and had the 3rd pick in the draft which they drafted Vince Young. Vince didn't start until the 4th game of the season (against Dallas) They were 0-3 before he started. They finished 9-7 last season. (8-5 with Young starting) This season they are 6-3 tied for the 4th best record in the AFC. I think you are confused. You don't go from 3-13 to a pretty good football team in spite of the QB you drafted #3 overall.
