Whatever receiver number- #1, 2, 3, etc. is given a WR…in reality it depends on the game. The best receiver on this team is Lamb. He will have the most targets, receptions, yards, etc. But every game is different, every team’s coverage is different. There will be some games where Lamb has maybe 2 receptions and Gallup has 6. And vice versa. Some say it's Brown.
Some say it's Houston.
Some say it's Fehoko.
Some say it's Tolbert.
It can only be one.
The coaching staff hasn't named anyone the surefire number 2, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that Turpin will be our primary slot guy. Definitely a better prospect than little guys we've had in the past, like Cole Beasley. But I guess you could choose him as a candidate for your #2 WR even though most view the slot as your #3 guy. But that's obvious.
Who plays opposite of Lamb?
Lamb is such a beast, I think any of those can be the Dak-friendly type of player we need. But I think the scariest one to defend would be Fehoko.
As good of a camp as he's had, Houston may be on the chopping block because of the numbers crunch.
I have no idea who the guy will be. If it's Brown, Fehoko or Tolbert, but I suspect Fehoko or Tolbert, with Fehoko having a slight edge on starting.
What's your guess?
I know why you’re asking, “Who’s the #2 receiver?” I would say Gallup. But I just think those numbers are created by the media, fans and fantasy football enthusiasts and it’s not what coaches or players put much stock in.
