Some say it's Brown.

Some say it's Houston.

Some say it's Fehoko.

Some say it's Tolbert.

It can only be one.

The coaching staff hasn't named anyone the surefire number 2, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that Turpin will be our primary slot guy. Definitely a better prospect than little guys we've had in the past, like Cole Beasley. But I guess you could choose him as a candidate for your #2 WR even though most view the slot as your #3 guy. But that's obvious.

Who plays opposite of Lamb?

Lamb is such a beast, I think any of those can be the Dak-friendly type of player we need. But I think the scariest one to defend would be Fehoko.

As good of a camp as he's had, Houston may be on the chopping block because of the numbers crunch.

I have no idea who the guy will be. If it's Brown, Fehoko or Tolbert, but I suspect Fehoko or Tolbert, with Fehoko having a slight edge on starting.

What's your guess?
Whatever receiver number- #1, 2, 3, etc. is given a WR…in reality it depends on the game. The best receiver on this team is Lamb. He will have the most targets, receptions, yards, etc. But every game is different, every team’s coverage is different. There will be some games where Lamb has maybe 2 receptions and Gallup has 6. And vice versa.

I know why you’re asking, “Who’s the #2 receiver?” I would say Gallup. But I just think those numbers are created by the media, fans and fantasy football enthusiasts and it’s not what coaches or players put much stock in.

A point of view is nothing more than an opinion and opinions vary. Just because you are a negative nancy doesn't mean other people have to be negative nancies.

Brown has never started before, so this is his time to shine. The run game hasn't had Tyler Smith before, so who knows how much they've improved with his presence. So if you want to look at the unseen and say negative things about them, then let that be you....negative nancy.
Brown has appeared in FIFTY games and has ZERO TD's....he is trash. Sorry....just my opinion that this WR corp on the whole as its currently constructed is trash....Booger and Chuckles did NOTHING to improve the teams lot, while teams that were already better, further distanced themselves in FA.

You got regular season video proving that this team's current WR core is trash? Because until you have proof, you're just speculating.

You got video from the 2022 regular season that proves better teams have distanced themselves? Because until you can provide proof, you're just speculating.

Brown can do nothing…he might be a good #5. We have no true 2…just like we have no true 1 or 3…again, we are a bottom 5 WR corp in the league…quit burying your heads…looks like our shiny new WR could be a bust…just great…pffft.

Your constant hate for Brown is old. Think with your head and not your heart hate.

Watch the tape...there is plenty of it. Doesn't need to be from 2022.

Brown & CeeDee didn't play in the games and that was before Brown was held out for precautionary measures a strain.
- i.e. Brown was treated like other starters.

Answer: Depends on the play called (since Gallup is still out). Me thinks several receivers will be alternating at #2 WR these first few games until Michael Gallup comes back.

Sorry...but when a WR has played in 50 games, shouldn't he have made 1 or 2 game changing plays that you can vividly remember? Hell, I'll even change that from game changing plays to "big plays" or "key plays". He has made ZERO!!!

BTW, you should have seen my disdain for Miles Austin his last 3 years....talk about stealing BIG money!

Pollard. I think he'll be on the field at receiver more than any of them as we try to get both him and Zeke out there together.

Number 2? I don’t think Lamb has done much to claim the number one spot other than being a first round draft pick.

I get the consternation over receiver. I really do. I’m still miffed about Amari. But there’s no comparison between this year and 2018. That year, the two starting outside receivers were Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson. Lamb is exponentially beyond those guys. I doubt either would make this roster.

Why do receivers need numbers?

At the risk of being called "obtuse" again, the fact is things like #1 and #2 receiver were terms that didn't even exist for decades. I know because I lived it.

A team has wide receivers. They're either good enough or not. Artificial numbering means nothing. Results will answer the questions.

i know

it's such an edgy thing to wonder at this point in the season.

If there are only 2 receivers on the field it's CD and Gallup. While Gallup is out it'll be houston.
