Who is the one player from an opposing team you grew to hate as an Cowboys fan?

Dirty Waters probably. All though, I gotta say, Eli Manning and his bush league BS with the Graphite on the walls of the brand new locker room was pretty crappy.

He was a big, strong QB for that era, but he was also helped by having an incredibly talented team around him. I would say the most talented team in it's era than the NFL has seen.

Yes, same team as Mean Joe. It wasn't just the offense that was strong, the defense was really the strongest part of that team, and was loaded with great players. Mean Joe was the best of the group, but the Steelers defense had 4 HOFers, and a couple more that were close to that level.

Aside from the Cowboys being less successful did you generally prefer watching the older football games or the modern game?

The Cowboys were still highly successful, and with just a break or two could have beat Pittsburg in one of those Super Bowls in the 1970's, and they would have been considered the team of the decade.

For me personally, I enjoyed the game more back then, but keep in mind I was watching the game through different eyes at the time.

First game I recall watching all the way through was the 1971 Super Bowl between the Cowboys and Colts (1970 season). The 1970's were when my love of the NFL started, and particularly my love of the Cowboys. I watched at that time through the eyes of a young fan who was totally wrapped up in the team, and who was not yet aware of any of the downside of pro football.

Of course, the fact they were consistently a SB contender in those days also made it fun.

Wow you must have forgotten more about football than I know!

You will have watched all the great players over the years.

It might sound sad but I'm gutted that I missed out. For example, I didn't get to enjoy watching Lawrence Taylor play. I appreciate that he played for the Giants but from the clips I have watched he looked amazing.

Objectively speaking the salary cap gives everyone a fair shake and I personally prefer it that way. I appreciate that it hurt the Cowboys more than other teams but we will be back at the top tree at some point. It just takes time

Joe Theismann...until I actually met him years later after he retired. While in hospital recovering from an auto accident, he visited my room several times, among others. Guy couldn't have been any nicer, more cheerful and genuine. Found out that he does this quite a bit on his own time.
