Who is trading up? And for what

We get flooded with trade down mocks, and "we should trade down" comments. Rarely with any real scenario. Begs the question, where are our real trade down opportunities?

We seem interested in DE's, WR's and CB's, so I dont think teams moving up for those positions will be likely. We are more likely to just draft a gut like Williams, Tet or Johnson than trading down with a team that wants to. There are scenario's where that could happen though. Ex: A team wants Tet but we have Golden/Egbuka higher. Its not something I would count on though

Most likely to me would be OT's. Simmons being the guy that teams could target. Campbell and Membou will likely be gone, and when healthy Simmons is a better prospect than both. With a good medical prognosis I could see 12 being a spot with some interest for him. Campbell and Membou would obviously be in the equation too if they drop. Banks probably not. His best position maybe inside. I dont see a team wanting to give up picks to move on an interior OL

QB is possible, but its tough. I think Dart would be the most likely target, but Sanders falling is possible. Wouldn't count that as a likelihood though. However I think the real question is who is trading up for a QB? The only likely awnser I could give in the 1st is Pittsburgh, and they would have to give up a 2026 1st since they dont have a 2nd rounder. The chart value would be a 2025 2nd and a 5th. If they did a 3rd and 4th they would be woefully short (226 out of a 400 point value) . So a 2026 1st would be likely. After Pittsburgh, a trade down with a QB needy team likely drops us to the 2nd.

Two guys that could be wild cards are Malaki Starks and Jalon Carter. Starks stock seems to have cooled some, but it could rise again as teams start doing individual workouts. I dont think he would be a target for us. Carter may or may not fall to us. And could or could not be a target for us. But Id still have him as a wildcard here. He may not fit what we are looking for.

So those are my trade down scenarios
I think Simmons is the player teams would trade up for. Many believe he was the best tackle prior to his injury and got medical clearance at the combine that he will be ready for camp. With the Tackle depth lacking, a team may want to secure the best tackle left.

We stand in agreement on this. Gun to my head and asked what player a team would want to move to 12 for, Simmons would be my awnser

Who do you see as players teams would want to move up for?

I think some of the guys teams would be interested in like Mykel Williams and Will Anderson, are guys we would just prefer to draft. Guy at those positions we have shown interest in like Tet, Golden and Shemar Stewart are guy I could see them feeling 12 is a little rich for
Always a few surprises of teams valuing players (sometimes correctly, sometimes not) higher than the pundits or some fans do.

Also, almost always a player or two who drop further than many expected.

Both are trade-up scenarios for someone

the ideal would be to make a trade down to be able to get a Golden/Omarion combo, this would be fantastic, but the reality is what you say, there are not many players so good that many want to go up to 12th place, and this is one of the stupid things that the Cowboys said last season, with the argument that we play to win, we are winners... winning games even knowing that they were not going to get anywhere, that they had already lost the season, and even worse with Overshown getting injured, Dallas should have saved players and lost games to have a better position in the draft. The Joneses have been making stupid mistake after stupid mistake and they won't stop.
