I just have a feeling if he lasts long enough merriweather will be a cowboy.

His gun charge is a concern to me, it was dropped but still, he had one.

Jerry spent some time today already prepping the media on the difference of substance problems and behaviour problems and gun charges, saying guns were legal in most places.

I just think when he said today that many players were put in the box, meaning they were taken off their draft board, then said wade cares more about speed than parcells and then the gun charge talk, it could lead to brandon merriweather.

Having a safety who is versatile enough to allow the team to play in its base defense when teams go 3wide, like philly when they put smith or westbrook out in the slot, is very valuable.

So for today I think if there merriweather will be a cowboy. It will be tough to pass on spencer and aaron ross if they are there.

Meriweather is a stud and if not for his possible off field issues he would be a sure fire to 20 pick, maybe top 15. He is a good one, definetly better than Nelson and could be a difference maker in our secondary. While I am slightly concerned about the character stuff, I really dont think there is a problem any team will have to worry about. Definetly not a Pacman, Lawerence Phillips type of guy. Actually lately I have been hearing he has been doing great in interviews and his college coaches are swearing by his character, saying he is a great kid.
Probably why Jerry said he has not taken Meriweather off our draft board.

My sentiments exactly. And given our woes at the position last year he has a chance to start right away.

I would take Dwayne Jarrett, why?, because he is consistent, productive, and is a winner. He don't only build up statistics, but he helps his team wins. He's also an locker room player and a leader which I believe is important in a player.

He help keep the team positive and confident in good and bad situations.

He's an gamer and I would guarrentee that if he plays in a Dallas uniform he would produce big numbers his first season especially with Romo as a quarterback.

Dwayne Jarrett is basically playing with a chip on his shoulder, from the comparisons of him and a underacheived receiver in Mike Williams. I believe this kid has something to prove and I would like for him to prove it in a Dallas uniform. He's strong also, make DB's look silly, and uses his body to make up for his lack of separation speed.

I believe Jason Garrett like the Michael Irvin type of wide receiver, someone who can make plays and gets his hands on the ball that possession type wide receiver.

Ginn. He is the one player that we can get without giving up too much that can have a major impact next season.

I can't leave Nelson on the board if he's available. He's a perfect complement to Roy Williams, and there are going to be good WRs available in the 2nd round. In the last 2 drafts, we've spent 3 first round picks on DE/LBs, so I don't think we'll reach for Moss or Spencer.

Trading back is a real possibility, especially if we're interested in Grubbs or Blaylock. We might be able to get one of those guys and Spencer or Jarrett if we play our cards right.

I still think we go CB or WR but voted for Spencer hoping that at the end of the day the lack of a proven pass rush will convince JJ we need to go in that direction.

Tackles can all agree on one big thing
BY JIM WEXELL
For The Tribune-Democrat

INDIANAPOLIS — The best offensive tackles in the country became repetitive when the question of pass-rushers was put before them.

“Guys like Anthony Spencer,” said big Joe Thomas.

“Mathias Kiwanuka was pretty good last year,” said Ryan Harris. “Anthony Spencer was pretty good this year.”

“Anthony Spencer from Purdue,” Levi Brown said, finishing with a crescendo.

Brown went on, moving his mouth closer to the microphone to make sure he was heard clearly.

“Without question he has a lot of speed and power,” Brown said. “He’s the best defensive end in this draft. You all should draft him.”

All of those elite left tackles believe that to be true. Spencer gave Thomas his first, and perhaps only, good battle of the season. Against Harris and Notre Dame, Spencer made a career-high 15 tackles, including 41/2 for loss and 11/2 sacks. Against Brown, the Penn State left tackle, Spencer provided the scouts with a tremendous back-and-forth showcase all through Senior Bowl week.

It's quite simple really. It amazes me how some people forget how fast our season went to sharte after Ellis went down last year. This guy has dominant pass rusher written all over him. With Ware and Spencer, we could have a dominant pass rush for years to come. Not to mention it would go a long way toward solving our problems at FS. Two birds with one stone. Draft this guy Jerry.

The poll question is 'whowe want Dallas to pick', not 'who do you think they will pick.'

Alot of Spencer love here the last few days. Nothing against the player, but it's amusing that so many people think Kiper is a buffoon, yet since he stated Saturday Spencer is climbing out of the 2nd round up to Dallas' pick...we've had a lot of bandwagon jumpers here.
