Not everyone. Not seriously anyway....well, maybe the really low IQ ones are.
It's a tired but sometimes funny meme anyway. I mean, if there a a badmitten game and Romo sighting, you can be sure a photo would show up on twitter. Notice that when he shows up to games and the team wins, there's no mention. But the joke works when there's a loss.
For example, Romo shows up at a Duke game and they win in a blowout. But they lse in the NCAA tourney (he's not at the game) but he gets blamed anyway because he once appeared at a Duke game.
That's how dumb it is.
It's similar to how people just ignore his 24 4th quarter comebacks (13 since 2011 which is most in the NFL). But the moment he throws a game ending INT, it's national news. One thing I've realized though is that the game ending INT from 2012 (Washington) is where the most damage has been done to his perception. I've mentioned this quite a bit before, but I was in Brazil during that week and the game was nationally televised in Brazil, which according to my gf, is unheard of. Being that Brazilians don't watch much American football anyway, that game was one of the only games they've witnessed and they witnessed the game ending INT, so naturally, they have succumb to the perception as well. In a way, you can't blame some people, especially those that generally don't pay much attention to the NFL.
His fault or not, the only way to shake that perception is to get a SB ring. Even if Romo throws for 0 TDS and 10 INTS throughout the playoffs, him having that ring would erase all demons. Unfortunately, I'm not too sure this will ever happen with the owner that we have and his ailing back issues.
