Who lasts longer: Shotty or Dak?

Dak's old and used up in football years. If the players like Schotty (which so far seems pretty evident) he may last longer. I'll be surprised if Dak makes it through a full season again. The wheels are literally falling off that dude.
He will work out to some extent, as long as his body cooperates. Let's hope so, until such time as additional help arrives. At this particular point in time, things are on the upswing. There's hope yet.

Let's just make the most of what we've got in house at the meantime, shall we? Our offense should improve in the days ahead. For the time being, the offense gets a shot in the arm. Things could be far worse. I'm looking forward to TC and the boosts we should get from our youngsters. The coaching is improving, as well. If the FO continues its positive swing, good things lie ahead. Let's not give up!

Depends on the outcome of the season, if somehow Shotty pulls a first year miracle and presents a contender in the playoffs and Two Picks Prescott once again shows his ugly head, that is a step closer to the Joneses trying to keep the young promising HC and bite the bullet on the old ailing QB.

The fact Jerry called hiring Schotty a risk tells me he won’t stick with him long if things don’t look promising after the 2025 season. He may only get two seasons especially if a desirable big name becomes available.
Maybe, but Jerry hasn't fired a coach in 15 years. And that was only when he had a handpicked pet project and long time family friend in place.

Not with Dak.
He will face the same issues as McCarthy.
And he will be just as powerless to fix them.
I'd like to think Schotty will get a chance without Dak, but it would seem that is impossible.
Everyone here knows that if the choice came down to Dak vs Schottenheimer, Jerry will go with Dak, because the alternative would be eating what's left of Dak's insane contract and admitting that he was wrong.

Shot might out last Jason especially with all this culture crap stuff
The "culture crap stuff" may be the most attractive feature of the hire. The laziness, self-centeredness, lack of accountability, and "some players are more equal than others" attitude engendered by the current country club culture certainly hasn't benefitted the organization in any way.

Bellicheck can’t get a job because in 2025 he’s a bad coach and the game has passed him by. Not because he’s too old.

If you are a good coach you will be hired regardless of age.

Mike stinks as a coach. He does the bare minimum. He doesn’t want say in personnel or doesn’t want to make any tough decisions. Just there.
Lol-nope. The game did not pass Belichick by-it’s still mostly won/lost in the trenches after all these years (if those are a stalemate, game typically goes to the better QB as it always has). Pete Carroll was not reinventing the game, but gets rehired (same age as Bill, but is thinner and chews way more gum). Maybe LV hired him because of his great success in his last three seasons with Seattle, lol. Dan Quinn gets another HC gig last season (albeit with the team hoping Mike Macdonald would choose them instead of Seattle). Drafts Jayden Daniels and transforms the team. See the new head coaches list down below. Note several of them with previous relationship with the team hiring them. Mike isn’t getting hired because he didn’t have a great season last year, is older (see less innovative), and has no strong previous relationship with other hiring individuals. Philly still wins SB last year with Mike or Bill coaching them. Mike does not want to make tough decisions? Where is this coming from? Schottenheimer may do well with the Cowboys, but it will have little to do with him (same is true if things go poorly)

New HC hires in the past couple seasons:

Brian Callahan-Titans-age 39 when hired -son of Bill Callahan (remember him?)

Dave Canales-Panthers-age 44 when hired last year. Pete Carroll coaching tree

Jim Harbaugh-Chargers-age 61 when hired last year. Previously 49ers and Wolverines head coach. Lots of NFL options in the past several years. NCAA trouble may have ousted him.

Mike Macdonald-Seahawks-age 36 when hired last year. John Harbaugh coaching tree (though spent one season with Jim at Michigan before returning to Baltimore).

Jerod Mayo-Patriots-age 37 when hired last year. Former Patriots star and assistant coach. Lasted one season and replaced by…

Mike Vrabel-Patriots-age 49 when hired for this upcoming season. Former Patriots star and Titans HC.

Raheem Morris-Falcons-age 47 when hired last year. Former defensive assistant under Monte Kiffin tree in TB, HC there a few seasons. Long-time assistant coach with Falcons, then DC with Rams a few seasons including their SB season.

Dan Quinn-age 53 when hired last season. Pete Carroll coaching tree and former Falcons HC. Many seasons as NFL DC.

Ben Johnson-age 38 when hired for this upcoming season. Long time assistant in NFL with Miami and Detroit. Had his pick of coaching options.

Brian Schottenheimer-Cowboys-Age 51 when hired for this season. Son of legendary HC Marty Schottenheimer. Bounced around the NFL as different offensive assistant coach or coordinator. OC with Cowboys most recently.

Pete Carroll-Raiders-age 73 when hired. Long coaching career with several NFL teams and USC. This his fourth HC gig.

Liam Coen-Jaguars-age 39 when hired. McVay assistant coach. Many seasons in college coaching. Most recently TB OC.

Aaron Glenn-Jets- age 52 when hired-long time DB coach before becoming DC with Detroit past few seasons.

Kellen Moore-Saints-age 36 when hired. OC for Cowboys, Chargers, and most recently SB winning Eagles.

Lots of turnover in the past two seasons (almost half the league). Which is what happens when long contract big money players are not succeeding - HC is easier to replace (just simple dollars and cents). Does not seem like the league in general knows how to make good HC decisions, but team failure for decades is a function of poor ownership and front office moves. Too frequent of resets are a plague for a franchise and so is long term stagnation.

He fired Campo who was on staff and had no head coaching experience. The hiring of Schotty has a Dave Campo feel to it. Both had been coordinators for many years in the NFL and no one had any interest in them as an HC. Jerry had no other quality options and promoted them. Schotty at least has a better team and QB than Campo inherited. Jerry stuck with Garrett because he had big dreams for him. Not so with Schotty.

We will see if things change
