I think Lawrence. He came on late last season after getting healthy and was probably the best PR the Cowboys had in the postseason. I think he grabs a starting DE and never relinquishes it. Mincey will become rotational and I think he will be ok with that at this stage of his career. Lawrence gets 10-14 sacks.

Gregory is the joker in this deck. Better than Bruce Irvin by leaps and bounds. He's a pure QB hunter, but his size at this time will limit his effectiveness and snaps.

Crawford will be Crawford. Plus player vs both run and pass, but really not a double digit guy - yet.

I think the addition of Gregory puts the Cowboys ahead of the Hardy contract should he decide to leave for greener pastures next season.

However you look at it this PR is truly formidable.

IMO, the Gregory pick makes Hardy an even longer shot to re-sign here.

If Lawrence improves and Gregory is a good looking rookie, why pay top dollars long term to keep Greg Hardy?

Agreed. We MIGHT not need him.

Lawrence would be my guess. The defense will be schemed for him to get sacks which will help. I really like how he came on at the end of the year and have high expectations for him going forward.

Unless somebody offers Hardy a stupid contract in 2016 I dont think he is that long a shot to stay. Pass rush covers up an average back 7, and based on talent and injuries, I see an average back 7. Also I'd be shocked if Gregory has a huge imapct this year. I could see Lawrence getting 6-8 sacks.

Hardy 11
Lawrence 8
Crawford 7
Mincey 6
Gregory 6

That's my prediction im assuming Hardys suspension is 4 games

Lawrence
After starting to emerge last year, and with an entire off season, and TC he will start to produce. And produce even more once Hardy returns. At first people will co,plan about Lawrence as he may be the one getting double teamed at times.
Then when Hardy returns, takes the pressure off, he will get more sacks.

If Hardy only misses 2 to 4 games, and not 10, then Hardy will lead in sacks.

I was going to say "if Hardy misses two" then it will be Hardy. So I agree with you. But I think Lawrence has a huge year next year.

Gregory 12
Lawrence 10
Hardy 10
Crawford 8
Mincy 6
Russell 4

Gregory if right, will be defensive rookie of the year if not Jones with all the INTs that this pressure will cause

When will they announced Hardy's suspension reduction?

If Mara and Kraft have their way, not until after their games are played, then they will say, 6 games, let him off....

But, I would bet not until. Right before the season starts.

Great topic from the OP... it's fun to be excited about our defense this year.... I had this discussion with a fellow fan yesterday...
If we get at least 28 sacks from the combo of DLaw, Hardy and Gregory, that would be great... would love to finish with 45-50
sacks on defense.... I'm going with Hardy as our sack leader while hoping his NFL sentencing (smh) is reduced to 4 games or less.
Let's say 13.5 sacks... which I believe is half and sack from a bonus for him.

Can't wait to see all three of the above mentioned guys on the field at once... picture this... its 3rd and 13 or more... The opposing QB
looks over the Cowboys defense and sees DLaw and Gregory on each edge and the Kraken lined up inside... Look out!

I don't know who will lead in sacks, but mark me down for betting that Crawford will get 6+ sacks.

Unless he gets his head out of his collective kiester, I hope Mo Clai leads the league in grocery sacking. Step up man!
