Who remembers Tony Pollard?

Pollard's a dude I love. He came into the league as a Day 3 unpolished ball of explosion, and developed himself into a complete RB. He can run inside, run outside, catch, and pass block. He's still cranking out 1,000 yard seasons, even after losing his athletic top gear to injury, even on a godawful Titans team that's not giving him any help. Pro's pro type of player.

RB depth was a Dallas Cowboys staple.

Three of the four 1st round picks from 1969 thru 1972 were RBs. In fact, they used both their 1st and 2nd picks in the 1972 draft on RBs.

After the Cowboys acquired Tony Dorsett, they still had guys like Robert Newhouse. Then in the mid-80s it was Tony Dorsett paired with Herschel Walker.

It's a different league now, but not so different that you can just ignore the position for years and use minimum-wage rookie free agents as backups.

It was downright tragic that Pollard's emergence coincided with Zeke Elliot's deterioration.

He signed with the titans for less than what Javonte Williams is making and pollard was a better overall running rb than what Williams is right now. The cowboys franchise tagged him and paid him more annually than what his aav was with Tennessee.

Cowboys and Jerry were just playing hard ball for whatever reason.
I think his last year in Dallas was not very good, I'm not sure they really wanted him back.

He had just came back off of injury. It waspretty good considering. He returned from injury better than other cowboys in recent history. He lost some burst but he’s regains it as the season progressed and he definitely is the old pollard now in Tennessee.

His family has a BBQ chain jn Tennessee. Not sure where exactly or if he has involvement. But him playing in Tennessee gives them a great opportunity to grow that business more

Odd player.

He was really good, then just fell off a cliff.

He was awesome; better than Zeke. While seen as a change of pace, he still hit hard. Also, I hate Zrk3.

Not sure he knows our playback at all. Being smart wasn't a known trait he had.
Was Jaydon Blue smart in real life?

ANSWER (GOOGLE): Yes, Jaydon Blue is highly regarded as a very smart football player in real life.
While he faced some early rookie criticism regarding his initial playbook comprehension and overall maturity during his 2025 rookie season with the Dallas Cowboys, coaches and scouts have consistently praised his intelligence:
• "Football Brilliant": Prior to the 2026 season, Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer noted that Blue’s intelligence was "off the charts" and described him as "football brilliant," heavily praising how well he adapted and mastered the playbook after taking hard lessons to heart.
• High Praise from Coaches: His former running backs coach, Tashard Choice, explicitly called Blue "very, very smart" and compared his traits and processing ability to NFL star Jahmyr Gibbs.
• Scheme Understanding: Analysts and scouts frequently highlight his intelligence on the field, noting his sharp spatial awareness, quick ability to read defensive fronts, and strong execution of complex blocking schemes.

No-Schott seriously screwed up getting rid of Jaydon Blue. He should go bring him back while he can, but I don't expect this head coach to be smart enough to understand why.
