So the speculation is that T. Owens won't be back next year. If true, the Cowboys will need a replacement.

I was curious, so I checked the free agent WR situation.

It is early and things can/will change, but so far it looks like a fairly lean year for FA WRs with the best of the bunch being Drew Bennett (Titans) and Kevin Curtis (Rams).

Of those two Bennett would be my choice.

Jerry'll trade two #1's to the Saints for that cat named Terrence Copper they have. He has a hunch bout that kid being the real deal for years to come.

T.O. will replace himself with a player who still has a little drop problem, but nowhere near the anomoly we've witnessed this year.

And then the Sam Hurd, Miles Austin era begins.

Get over it. He's going to be back next year regardless. If that means Jerruh has to chose him over Parcells, he WILL pick TO over BP. TO has done what he was brought here to do: lead the team in catches, yards, and lead the league in TDs while not tearing the team apart.

Don't bring truth, facts or logic into this anti-Owens thread.

This thread is about hating Owens, let it be.

Like it or not BP, this team is much worse off without TO. I would really enjoy not going into next year with a 2nd year starter at QB, no real franchise RB to speak of, and Glenn and Crayton as our top two WRs.

Meh... It is hardly a given that this team is "much worse" without T.O.

And it wouldn't mean Sam Hurd would have to start. We can always draft someone or go for a F.A. like Curtis or Bennett.

Sure, their numbers won't be as good, but so what? It's not all about numbers.

It's realllllllly early, but if Parcells is still here, then I can't get over the feeling that Jeff Samardzija will be Owen's replacement. This may even take place by the Cowboys offering up Owens and a draft pick to deal into the mid-teens in the first round. They surprised last year and went with a Notre-Dame tight-end in round two (even though we needed offensive line). The Parcells/Weiss link is just too strong to dismiss it!

Boy, there is so much hate in this post it is just dripping, and yet the T.O group comes out in full force to call them on it.

T.O. supporters unite and defend.::laugh1:

It is just a question. Since there is no good answer JJ will probably bring him back.

There is no good replacement. You had options last year with a trade for J Walker, but they chose T.O instead so I think they have to live with that unless he is just causing many more problems than we have seen and that does not appear to be the case.

I cannot see any team trading for Owens, It is not that he would not be worth the trade talent wise, it is just the fact that you would not want him on your team if HE did not want to be there.

If Rosenhaus is any good, he has a no trade clause in his contract since it is essentially a series of one year deals.

LOL

Just like the "TO will never be a Cowboy"

I really wish that for atleast the playoff game we could have well-wishes FOR ALL OF OUR PLAYERS AND COACHES... we should be hoping that TO plays lights out for the benefit of the team/wins

we want to win above and beyond all else - right???

Me too, but it makes perfect sense based on Parcells previous Draft strategies! Jones/Draft pick instead of Steven Jackson, Fasano instead of O-Line.

They'll draft Samardzija at fifteen (he can probably be had at their current pick) and then he will opt for a career as a Part-time player like Deion and a stint on Dancing with the Stars! Now that's Dallas Cowboys football!
