Who says the Cowboys aren't Canada's Team too

Mexico is considered part of North America, NAFTA or not.
Not according to National Geographic but if you insist.

Actually the Montreal Canadiens are Canada's Team. Unlike the Leafs unilingual Englis fan base, the Canadiens represent all of Canada, French, English, fans in Quebec and in the other nine provinces, worldwide recognition and all of our games are on national tv on RDS etc This year we are even the best of the six Canadian based teams

Even better 24 Cups to 11
That hurts! However, the Leafs will rise again someday soon. The Leafs will be better than the Habs by year's end.

Oh I would love to respond to the Iraq comment but alas political comments are not allowed.

Don Cherry said all that needed to be said about "you" people.

I have no use for Canada after not backing us on Iraq - they mean nothing to me, their Gov't that is.

No reason to back something that doesn't make sense. Besides, we do have the third largest military precense in Afghanistan which basically exhausts our entire military. We could send you a few hockey players and a mountie if it will make you feel better.

Well according to every Mexican student I've had, it is part of North America. Just did a brief online search, and there is some debate to it; however, most sources include Mexico as part of North America.

Don Cherry's opinions should be given the same credence as Joe Theisman's. How much does that make them worth?

Don Cherry was 100% correct - Canada live under the US umbrella - Pax Americana - something goes down - over here and they benefit from our defense system. This is a fact that cannot be denied. However , the Canadian border? all you need is a library card to get over it.

Don Cherry on war :laugh2:

That is like relying on John Madden as a source for Israeli-Palestinian relations

You keep trying to provoke us, why? We didn't say anything about the US. This thread is about the Cowboys' popularity in Canada, not world geopolitics.

Ok - we'll stick to the Cowboys. You can PM me for any further discussion.
And NO I don't provoke people - that was not my intent.

There are alot of Cowboys fans up here in Canada....especially here in Ontario... :)

"how bout them Cowboys"!!!!!!

they either love them or hate them here too.....

reminds me of the Leafs here.....who by the way.....are Canada's team...minus the championships :(

IMHO....most loyal fans in sports....

Where you at Mash? I think the loyalty of Leafs fans is part of the problem. We support them no matter how inept the management is.

The Habs are Canada's team - The Laffs are a joke - always have been . People can talk Leafs all they want, but during the days of the Flying Frenchmen - Canada was all Montreal...during the days when the Les Habs played the NHL All Stars - nobody outside of Toronto was anti Montreal b/c there was no Winnipeg/Quebec/Van/Cal etc - there were two Teams and Montreal were the Yankees while the Laffs were the Mets.

The Canadiens are like the Liberals, red, bilingual, often on top while the Leafs are the Conservatives, blue, rarely on top and unilingual ;)

Live in Kingston Ontario....gotta love those Leafs and Cowboys...

Blue Demon...

Habs fans are frontrunners...and bangwagoners :)....when they stink...you never see a hab fan....when they start winning....all u see those habs flags all over the place.....drives me crazy...

But I do respect them....their mangement that is......unlike the leafs...they seem to know how to rebuild a team....Leafs mangement know that it doesnt matter what product they put on the ice.....fans will still show up...im still waiting to see the cup hoisted again....I was 4 yrs old the last time :(
its a long wait...

btw...let me guess...bluedemon....your a hab, cowboy, yankee and laker/celtic fan.....is that how it goes? :) There are a bunch here in this small town too... :)

Actually funny you mention how the Canadiens fan is a bandwagoner. I rarely saw LeafFan anywhere prior to 1998 but when for the first time since 1967 they were actually better than the Canadiens, LeafFan was all of a sudden everywhere.

I think it is safe to say that Quebec is Canadiens, Ontario mostly Leafs (with Canadiens and Hens in the far eastern parts and Red Wings in the southwestern part), the rest of Canada is pretty evenly split between us.

Maybe you should try telling my wife that. She had to wait almost a year to join me here (and that was after we got married in Venezuela, thereby nullifying any suspicions of a fake marriage.) People is hardly the safe haven that many make it out to be, especially those politicians south of the border who point to Canada as a convenient scapegoat for the terrorism problem.
