Who do you think should be the next Cowboy elected into the HOF, excluding Emmitt?

I vote Drew Pearson.

Larry Allen in 4 years. When he played left tackle he was the best left tackle in the league. When he played guard it was the same way. The most dominating offensive lineman ever, IMO.

Allen's already got his ticket punched to Canton. So does Emmitt Smith. It's the Cowboys of yesteryear that need help. They're facing the exact same bias which kept Bob Hayes out of the Hall for over two decades.

I'm pretty confident the players of the 90's teams that deserve to go will.

It's those from the old school I worry about. The senior committee should nomimate a former Cowboy great every year. That ought to keep them busy for the next decade or so.

Agree 100% with all names mentioned.

As a sidebar.... Reggie White is in the Hall... Erik Williams owned him...every...single...game. I'm just sayin'.

Hey, if they can select Dwight Stephenson (Miami center) they can select Big 'E'.

Big E won't make it. He needed longevity, especially as an offensive lineman. His accident didn't help him and derailed his career and Hall of Fame chances.

Lee Roy Jordan should be in. I doubt Drew Pearson will get in. Too many wide receivers yet to go in and with Cris Carter, Tim Brown, Andre Reed, Jerry Rice and a host of others still waiting to get in, Pearson won't sniff a Hall of Fame induction.

I fear that's it for the "old school" Cowboys. With Emmitt, Allen, (Haley maybe), Deion Sanders (mercenary who will likely go in as a Cowboy) set for induction and T.O. and possibly Ware and Witten if they keep up with the Pro Bowls and numbers, I doubt we're going to see any more old time Cowboys in the Hall of Fame.

Howley should be next, but Jimmy will get there first.

I think Jimmy Johnson should get in the Hall of Fame. You can't write NFL history without Jimmy's contributions to restoring the Cowboys to their glory years.

But I think his lack of longevity hurts him. Still, I don't think everything is about stats, and what he did taking a laughingstock franchise to its most dominanting team in the 90s is Hall of Fame worthy stuff.

Jimmy WILL NOT get in. Only 2 rings and he had little success at Miami.
Lee Roy Jordan was not flashy enough sadly. Howley and Harris SHOULD be in and I think Howley will some day. Cornell Green is another guy that should be in judging by what gets in all too often- he was pro bowl at both CB and Safety.

The problem with Darren Woodson is that he was a great Cowboys player but isn't considered a great NFL player.

He was consistently good, but I doubt many in the league or many sportswriters, for that matter, can think of signature plays by him enough to affect the outcome of a game.

His curse is that he was, again, consistently good and went about his job without fanfare. But that won't be good enough to get him in the Hall of Fame.

Having said that, maybe his venture into television will get him some sympathy points as it will Jimmy Johnson.
