Who should Garrett hire as a OC next season?

IMHO Garrett would be better off letting someone else call the plays and just coach the team just like what Payton is letting Carmichael do in NO thoughts.

If it was a good one with a snowball's chance in hell of happening I wouldn't comment at all. But damn man, this isn't Madden, it isn't Fantasy Football, and it probably has about as much chance as bbgun does of ever getting a date with WoodysGirl.

Oh ok lol but I'm not saying that JG is bad play caller and I do think he taking this team in the right direction and I know also that no coach is perfect.

I know that JG is a good offensive coach and if he doesn't bring in a OC next year that will be fine with me.

I'm not suggesting it but it either but most fans here are up in arms about after that freak loss to the Cards this past Sunday.

I don't know what hiring an OC has to do with Madden or fantasy football. But I don't think Garrett's ego will allow him to let someone else call the offense. Many different media guys who know him have said the same thing.

somebody on FirstTake pointed out that even if they hire an OC, the HC (Garrett) still makes the ultimate decisions... no.

I'm more interested in best, not easiest. Besides, a large number of the offensive personnel never played for Sporano anyway so I don't know that it would be that much more difficult to transition to someone else.

Just because other teams do it does not mean the Boys should. How many coaches who are their own OC have won SB's? And is there a good reason why Red Ball should have an OC? Now that is a fair question.

The last 2 Super Bowls come to mind quickly.

In the NFL teams follow trends of success. How many teams hired Super Bowl winning Head Coaches last year from the pool of Cowher, Dungy, Billick, Gruden, and Mike Holmgren? Instead people hired first time guys like has been the recent trend. Only Washington bucked that trend in recent years. Where has it gotten them?

How many teams have moved to a 3-4 scheme in recent years? How many tried some variation of the Wildcat Miami was using?

Coaches operating as their own Coordinators will continue until someone wins one the "old way."
