Who Should Start at RB?

It's only Tuesday heading into a bye week and I'm already bored out of my mind.

So let's see if anyone agrees that Julius should remain the start.

still want to see JJ play, just switch it up. Let MBIII wear them down and put JJ in once the D is tired.

can't argue the MBIII is clearly the better RB

Send in the cannon fodder (Jones). Then attack with one's best troops (Barber).

I gotta tell ya.... I am a big Barber fan... was a little down on Julius....

BUT MAN.... Julius has come close to breaking a couple of runs this year.... I would say just about every game.... the defenders are making good plays/tackles to bring him down...

I would keep him as starter... I think he is about to breakout....

THEN.... they will fear us....

For the first time in this ongoing saga...Barber.

I think Julius would be more effective After Barber has worn them down some. However, I still think they need to alternate during all quArters.

Both.

Motion Jones or Barber to the slot or Witten to the backfield and go from there.

I'd like Julius Barber please, hes number 23.5

I want to see MBIII start the first couple of series and then turn it over to JJ for most of the rest of the first half. Then split them about even in the third quarter and turn it over to MBIII again in the fourth quarter. I think this would help us get off to a quicker start while still using JJ and his speed to wear down the defenses. But I want MBIII running over people in the fourth quarter and gaining first downs. JJ is not and never has been consistent enough to get us off to a strong start nor to be a closer but he can do some good having the defense chase him through the middle part of the game.

So start and finish with MBIII with a strong dose of JJ in the middle.

If it aint broke.....dont fix it

Just my opinion
I think it is broke...I think JJ is part of the problem that we have had with the slow starts.

I dont think it really matters who starts. I think the combo works well. Has anyone else noticed that Jones has made some good plays catching the ball the last 2 or 3 games but most of them have been called back. I'm not big on drafting a RB in the first round, if they dont I wouldnt mind keeping JJ around... cheap.

I have no probelm with drafting a RB in the first round...that's where we got Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith. However, I think we have bigger needs than RB right now with MBIII and JJ spliting the duty.

I see our needs for the first round to be CB and WR. Henry is injury prone and Newman is getting some wear and tear on him. And of course both Owens and Glenn are getting old.

When there is a competition, one can't never be satified with their current state, because you will eventually get left behind.

There is always a room for improvement, no matter how good the situation is.

Julius has seen no holes on his runs and when they do give him one, its almost a homerun. Its part of the blocking schemes up the middles as well.

If you can make it better, why not?

I think they did. Even though JJ "starts", Barber got more carries last 2 games.

That's not exactly by design. They just switch them out one drive after another. Barber just happens to get more carries because his drives last longer.

Hail, yeah!
Start JJ. He and the O line can soften up the opposing team for 1 quarter and then .... boom! when MB starts his punishing act.

It makes sense in an odd way, huh, fellow parolees?

That may be so but I'm pretty sure Barber has been in on more drives past two games.
