I just feel like the Giants have more to lose and they'll come out Sunday like it's the last game of their lives. They're 4-6. If they lose they're 4-7, which is 2 games behind Philly and essentially 3 games behind Dallas (since we'd be 2 games up and we would've won both the head-to-heads). As bad as we've been, there's almost a 0% chance they'd come back from 3 games behind with only 5 games to go.

If we lose, on the other hand, we're still in the driver's seat. Even though we'd be a game behind Philly, we'd still beat out Philly for the division if we won out because beating Philly in the finale would give us the same record plus the tie-breaker for winning both head-to-heads. So if we lost we'd still have the heads up on Philly and we'd be tied with NY in the head-to-head, so the division would come down to some weird tie-breakers between us and NY if we both won out.

The point is, this is a must-win for NY but not for us. The only way I see NY losing is if their talent is just so inferior to ours. I see NY coming out the gate full-throttle and us flat. I hope I'm wrong.

With the Packers, Bears, and Commanders still on the Cowboys' remaining schedule between now and that season finale, merely keeping pace with the Eagles is going to be more difficult than it sounds.

Well, yeah. But the Eagles play three 6-4 teams in their last five games too. I'm just saying, we'd still control our own destiny over Philly because we own the tie-breaker. I haven't broken down the tie-breaker scenario if the Giants beat us Sunday and we both won out the rest of the way. Actually, never mind, we would still win the division. We would have a 5-1 division record and they would have 3 division losses (or maybe 2).

Unfortunately, the Giants' history is to start slow and finish fast. Our history is to completely collapse when the POs are on the line. We seem to postpone putting out an effort until "next week", until, sadly, we run out of "next weeks" and the season is over and we go home. I really don't think this team wants to make it ot the POs. I think they just want to go home and enjoy life until the first OTA. Plus, Garrett is 0-3 coming out of the bye...

True. The Cowboys still own a significant advantage in the first (and most important) two tiebreakers.

They're 1-0 against every NFC East rival so far, so they cannot possibly lose on a head-to-head tiebreaker.

They are 3-0 in the division. The Eagles, Giants and Commanders are 3-2, 1-2, and 0-3, respectively.

Dallas is now in a position where just one more NFC East division victory would very likely assure them of prevailing in tiebreakers.

That's the type of security that makes me scared Dallas will come out flat while NY comes out full-throttle. I want our players going into the game thinking if they lose the season is over. I know all of the Giants will be thinking that.

It's obvious the Giants want this game more. The Cowboys show no back bone no desire to want it. I expect a bull kicking on Sunday and conservative play calling

Yes, the Giants have more to lose by losing this game at home. When you think about it in that light, it's also obvious they'll be under more pressure to perform. That can easily go against them as well as the opposite. If the Cowboys show up in the Meadowlands with total commitment to winning this thing, they could prevail. It's not like the opportunity won't be there for them to have it for the taking. If we want it badly enough, it'll happen. This game should serve as a barometer to determine if that's the case or not. It should determine a great deal about how this season will go.

Sorry to say, I agree with this 100%. This has been our M.O. For the past 10+ years and I don't see this coming to an end anytime soon.

No.

The giants time under coughlin has been to start fast , Peter out in November and then in two of the seasons 07 and 11 they got hot in December.

Mixed in with those seasons they completely quit in 09 in the final two weeks, blew a big lead in the east in 12 and 10. Got shutout at home against Carolina in 05, colapsed in 06 and basically threw in the towel in 08 after the burress circus got going and lost at home to Philly in the playoffs.

We'll know tomorrow.

Based on their yapping pregame it would appear the Giants feel they are going to roll right over the Cowboys.

Same with their fans I've talked to.

The phrase not worried has been used.

But if this team is as quick to fold as the fanbase is then they're in trouble.

But the cowboys WILL make the plays in the passing game the giants 4 previous opponents couldn't and will win the game.

I don't know who "wants" it more, but they do need it more if they have any hope of staying in the race. I'm sure in the back of our guys' minds they know they can lose this game, beat a very bad Raiders team at home on Thanksgiving, and be 6-6 and still in the race.

I'm not going to expect a thing from the Cowboys again. They're impossible to predict.
I can't say I remember a team talking this much noise about a game as the Giants are this week. It kind of surprises me to read all this smack talk.

I'm sure the Giants are emboldened after watching our beatdown by the Saints. IMO, they really have nothing to lose with all of the trash talk, because they will be declared dead if they lose at home to the Cowboys, who will be 4-0 in the division, and own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the G-Men.

From the quotes I've heard this week, we're gonna get steamrolled. The Giants have their sights set on us and it seems as if we don't even know we have a game, talking more about the job security of our coach next year than preparing for a first place divisional match up.
