Dalton Schultz was clearly our biggest loss he was our starting TE and Dak’s security blanket. Fans can downplay him all they want but he scored 13 TDs the past two seasons and although his blocking was an issue, he was dependable at moving the chains.

Agree. The addition of Cooks will compensate for giving Dak more targets which will allow Schoonmaker to develop at a somewhat slower pace.

We just have to hope one of the young TE’s is consistent at finding seams and soft spots in the defense on those 3rd and manageable yardage situations.

te dalton schultz.
he wasn't a difference maker...but a solid starter.
he had good synergy with dak.
but ferguson seemed to develop that as the season went along...so i think it won't be a signifigant loss.

I think whoever Dak has at TE will develop good synergy with him, the rook, Fergy or Hendershot. Dak utilizes the safety valves when things get tight. All are capable of producing given the opportunity imo.

At the moment, I'd say Elliott

I can't believe that people think Dalton Schultz had good hands lol

Guy couldn't catch anything that didn't stick between the 8 and the 6 with any consistency.

I mean for a 4th rounder he’s was a hell of a pick. Let’s see what the new guys can do.

No one player stands out as being a devastating loss.

However what they did not do in FA or the draft was to address the OL better, as well as RB.
But no one player I consider a big loss.

Overall, I don't think they lost much but I would say Carlos Watkins. After watching the Cowboys - Tampa Bay game tonight, I think Watkins was underrated and did a decent job at DT.

Schultz was overrated. Terrible blocker in the run game.

McGovern was good too. He would be a close second to Watkins.

Wow. If those were his worst misses of the year he has much better hands than I thought. I'm not saying either couldn't have been caught, but come on dude. With the drops we see right in a guys midsections, chest high, you think those are considered bad drops or a sign of having bad hands? The first was a little wild, came at him fast and at a weird angle and was off his body and almost passed him by the time he got his hands on it. When a ball is off your body by that amount you should catch it if your hands are out in front of you, but with your hands even with your body it is much different. The second the defender knocked loose. Again. certainly could have and I'll even say should have been caught but you are reaching...

Dalton Schultz?

Connor McGovern?

Seems like we lost a few players that were "JAGs" although Schultz was good in the passing game.

But we really didn't lose any difference makers.

If Cooks, Gilmore, and Mazi Smith can be difference makers or at least solid contributors the roster is definitely going to be much more talented.

I think we're right there with Philly.
Schultz was the better player, but McGovern is probably the bigger loss because there is still uncertainty about how to fill that position

They're not his worst, they're just the ones I could find.

But the point is that he struggles to make difficult catches - I think a lot of them aren't even counted as drops that should be.

It’s close but I say Mcgovern. Mcgovern was snatched up immediately to a three year deal to a contender while Schultz had to wait and only managed a one year prove it deal with the Texans.
