Forget their college eligibility for a sec. Will which RB do you think will perform best in the NFL?

McCaffrey from Standford
EZ from Ohio St
Fournette from LSU

Others?

McCaffrey is just electrifying to me. Every team knows that they need to stop him yet unable to. Amazing blend of power, quickness, acceleration and elusiveness. I wish he was coming out this year.

Fournette is built for the NFL game and Elliott isn't far behind. McCaff is only 200 lbs and strikes me as a Sproles type of player that can play a long time, but situational only.

And not very quick.he has a nfl role but he won't be a bell cow like the other 2.

Yeah. I see McCaffrey as a Sproles/Woodhead type player. Will probably be a nice player and have a long career, but not as a feature back.

Yea, when I see McCaffery, I see Reggie Bush. Now Reggie Bush did not end up as good as everyone thought, but I can see McCaffery coming closer and likely exceeding Sproles/Woodhead, but not a featured back.

I can't see McCaffrey slamming into the line of scrimmage for a living, but I can definitely see him touching the ball 25 times a game.

I think McCaffery will be far better than Bush and Sproles. He may not be able to take pounding of a feature back but he's THE RB at Stanford and gets lot of touches and is far more physical than Bush.

I agree with VACowboys that he can change the game if you give him 25 touches per game. Extremely tough for defense to match up as he can run/catch/punt/kickoff return. D don't know to play in BASE or NICKLE package.

He's a game changer to me. I am willing to take him at bottom of 1st round. What you guys think?

I think Dalvin Cook needs to be part of the discussion as well.

I think he may have been the best back in college this year. He has more speed yet runs with about as much power. Cook also has serious moves and explosiveness. He's going to be dynamite in the NFL.

Regardless we have to wait till 2017.

Dont sleep on Chubb. That injury was nasty but he will be back

I think it really depends on who goes where. I personally like Derrick Henry most. That's my guy

Out of the 3 listed I think Zeke will be the best and most complete RB. He's good or better in every area you would want from a RB except maybe pass protection. I haven't watched him much in pass protection so I'm unsure how good he actually is there. Not a bulldozer, but powerful. Good hands. Very good acceleration. Good vision. Breakaway speed. I'm not nearly as high on Fournette as others seem. He's a bulldozer for sure, but I just don't see the breakaway speed or agility that would have him ranked above Zeke. In fact, I would probably take Cook and a healthy Chubb over Fournette.

A realistic but effective backfield for Cowboys current system:

Kenneth Dixon - little hammer, more explosive MB3, workhorse back
James Conner - big hammer, Mike Alstott type on goal line and short yardage who could replace Clutts at FB as well
Christian Mccaffrey - Dunbar/Harvin role, maybe even a complementary receiver opposite Dez, big play threat with every touch

I see McCaffery as Terry Metcalf for the old timers. Multipurpose threat but too slight to take an everyday pounding. However, he had speed and was virtually impossible to tackle in the open field. I freely admit that I didn't think McCaffery had that kind of speed. He can flat out fly and at the same time also throw in moves that will break a defenders ankles.

McCaffrey looks pretty darn quick to me.

Especially on that punt return TD. It was a well covered kick and he juked everybody out of their shoes and made it look easy in doing so.

That and he's not exactly small. He's 6'0" and 201 pounds at the age of 19. Marshall Faulk was 5'11" and 211 pounds.

That's who he reminds me of.

I think Fornette had some great blocking as well as Elliott. I'm a little skeptical on Elliott because I think the Big 10 stunk this season. Although I think Ohio State in general has far, far, far superior talent than any other Big 10 team...so Elliott could be the real deal.

I think it really comes down to injuries and what team drafts these guys. If one of them were to go to Cleveland, I wouldn't like their chances like I would if one of them ended up in New England.
