I could see a scenario where Jerry Jones could offer McCarthy "undisclosed incentives" to retire from the NFL altogether.

This would be a public relations win for Jerry. He could move on from McCarthy without having to justify his removal. Pro-McCarthy fans would be silenced and the team could easily transition to Zimmer.

Hey.....@ this point wouldn't shock me Jerry goes completely off the rails.....and tries something new on offense.
Gruden will tell Yoda: Imagine a spread offence, quick slants to Tolbert and lasers to Lamb. Star Wars II, Jerrah!" Yoda will look in Gruden's eyes and find god.

After thinking about it, I think MM tells Jones he wants 5 years, 20M per, to make clear he’s putting himself on the market.

KM as the next coach, Zimmerman returns as DC.

I don't want McCarthy back at all, but I'd rather keep him over giving the job to Zimmer as those are the only two Jones would consider (maybe Garrett too).

And again, doesn't really matter who the coach is while the JonesBoys run the show. We are doomed to failure no matter what until that is no longer the case.

I think Zimmer is going to save McCarthy's job and it is total shame.

Jerry can see this team still plays hard for Mike McCarthy. That's why Jerry has hope for the team's future despite being eliminated today.

Well, Jerry has the chance to keep a guy he has total control over. So what else is new? And some of you are actually buying into it.

Jerry has a short memory, it seems. The team found a way to play themselves out of a playoff spot and a good draft pick. Mike is going to be back.

DFW area restaurants are happy.

The only thing stopping MM from returning will be himself and with his house on the market, it's still a possibility that he may not want to keep dealing with the circus. I think he could probably get the same money elsewhere so it will be up to him if he wants to deal with JJ for another 5 yrs. Goodness... just saying that sounds painful.

Jerry Jones
Hes been the HC since Jimmy left except for a few years with BP

As long as any HC comes here who lets the Joneses set the culture and Dak is QB, this franchise is going nowhere
All just window dressing and “wins” like last night just reinforce to Jerry that all is well, if only he could tweak things a little we will be in the SB next year

Interesting idea. I can see JJ wanting that, but I can’t see McCarthy accepting that because I think he will always be a coach at heart and would want to leave the game on his terms.

No doubt Big Mac has some leverage now. Jerry hates to look for a new HC because comfort is his most important goal each year. He does not want to have to look again for another HC where he risks losing even an ounce of his perceived almighty credit.

Yeah but that's the thing Bob,

I think we're all having that creep into our mind right now ,that the way they finished or are finishing the season they're not quitting on him they're supporting him the players are coming out saying they want it back.. I mean look how hard they played last night, so yes the question keeps popping up does he deserve to come back will Jerry bring him back will he wanna come back a lot of people are starting to slide towards that side where I mean who better than him would come here right now anyway I mean I would if I'm Jerry have that list and already doing some back office back door type interviews like with Vrabel but if you can't get somebody you think is better then yeah some of us are starting to settle into the fact that it might be best to bring Mike in both back Mike and Mike the new Mike and Mike show.

Because if you look at the circumstances in which like say Zimmer had to play in missing so many players hurt, I cant remember how many ,there are more than 11 on defense alone ,a lot of more key players and it keeps happening were injured and I know they didn't start the season well when they weren't injured, but having bland and Sam Williams out before game one, being a new defense not being given much by Jerry, people in their minds are thinking if these players would have been here and they would have been relatively healthy had most of their starters it would have got on track,
like it is now, it's more on track, he seems to have a letter feel how to use the players and how to become aggressive when he needs to, the players are learning his defense, if we would have had all those players, common sense says we probably would have been better from the beginning, he would have got on track... I see a lot of teams have that happen when you have a new coaching staff it takes a little while to get the right blend in the right feel for your team from both sides the players and the coaches on the same page.

but it's hard to forget that two years in a row, Mike McCarthy somehow forgets how to use the back of his playbook with his starters, and it's only when things are going bad and starting to look like they're about to spin out of control or when he's using his backups he's more creative... I've never seen him use that part of his playbook with his starters since he's been an offensive coordinator first eight games of the season,

he's not using enough motion, he's not getting creative with the run game, he's not using Rico or Turpin properly until it's too late... It's very confusing it's a head scratcher to wonder why he plays straight up vanilla football and expecting his talent just to win on talent alone with his starters when there's everything to play for and then whenever there's not he looks like this I don't get it like I guess I can live with Mike McCarthy coming back if he gives up the play calling if we hire a bunch of new offensive staffs or at least pieces of it...

So yes I'm falling into that trap as well where I'm starting to be OK with the idea of this coaching staff coming back with a little bit of changes to the offensive staff if he's just the head coach and zimmer's just the defensive coordinator maybe we run this back for two years because that's really the window we have with a lot of these veterans you just got big contracts before we can think about getting out of them...

Tell us WHY you voted the way you did….

I voted Big Mac. Not because I want him back. I just think that’s what’s going to happen unless Mac decides he doesn’t want to be here anymore. (If I was McCarthy, I would be done with Dallas and the Jones circus)

Whoever is coaching in 2025, unless there are major changes at the top of the organization, it won’t matter much.
I also voted that way because I feel that is what JJ will do :(

Cool story, Art.

Kellen would powerbomb his grandmother to be the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
Having Kingsbury as an option is a waste.
No chance of him coming to Dallas. His offensive philosophy, like most NFL OCs, requires a mobile QB.
Dallas will be stuck with essentially a gimpy QB.
It will be the return of Big Mike, and Jerry will beg him to stay.
I wish Mike would tell Jerry to either let him run all the football decisions or he's leaving.

I voted None of the Above, but I would change to McCarthy after last night’s game if I could. I’m now expecting the Mike brothers back. And I don’t expect any change in offensive system or play calling because that would be uncomfortable to Dak. They’re yoked to Dak for at least the next 2-3 years.
