one of my thoughts. it seems the "rabid fans" always have to have someone to:

1. trade
2. whine about

when the natural occurance of events takes place, they just move onto the next victim. one huge reason i just don't talk much in big forums. too much WAH WAH WAH for me these days.

but yea, roy was a huge whipping post. even when not on the field, he was the target of a lot of animosity. no he was never the player we all hoped he'd be but he was never as bad as his critics made him out to be either.

i'm betting a vast majority of those wanting roy gone will simply shift targets and whine about someone else now.

When catastrophe strikes, normal people ask, "What happened and how to we fix it?". Cowboys fans ask, "Whose to blame and what are we going to do to them?".

you don't HAVE to get all bent out about anyone. there's just this pack of wolves out there waiting to pounce on their least fav player for good reasons or just made up ones.

True, but the OP thinks that Roy and TO were somehow "victims" or unfairly criticized. Homie don't play that.

Now that RoyWill38 and TO are gone, who will be blamed for losses next year?

Romo. He gets it a lot now, anyway, so now he'll likely just take the vast majority of it.

Of course, hell Troy Aikman was starting to get boos towards the tail end of his career. It comes with the position whether it is always fair or not.

well their idea of fixing it is getting rid of a player.

replacements don't come to mind - just ANYONE but that player.

like i said, the constant whining and whizzing contests just got old to me. i'll stick with smaller forums for the most part really. still love it here, i just talk less.

Hmmm, well sometimes you can just go back to some of the older ones like Bradie James. I like the guess of Newman because he will get thrown to alot more next season with Henry gone. QBs didnt have to look to Newman with an easy target like Henry on the other side.

Yeah, Newman will be under a microscope, but then again he will probably have some sort of injury to fall back on as an excuse. When people start blaming Ware that's when you know we've entered a strange place.

I don't think Barbie would qualify since in order for someone to be a whipping boy, they have to be in a position to be actually contributing to a win or loss

What will be hilarious is while they're blaming Romo the guys who said it was mainly TOs fault, or acted like TO being gone would cure things, will be saying Romo sucks and that he only looked good cause TO made him look so good.

Those will be the best comments.

I don't know anything about whipping boys.

But the pressure will be on Witten to produce more now that T.O. is gone from the team and from his psyche.

Witten will have to assume the mantel of leader of the receiving corps and not take any guff from RW or Crayfish.

If it were me, I would start Austin and bring in Hurd to spell him. Consistently.

But Witten is gonna have to produce -- big time.

When hasn't Witten produced? If not mistaken he is one of the top TE in the NFL and has not been a vocal pain in the butt. He down played what the media was dishing out not blasting Owens. As for pressure I think the pressure is on this entire team to go out and produce and if they can go out and play as a team they just may have a chance to prove some critics wrong.

Can Witten realistically do anymore than he has?

Barber will probably come in for some blame also. In fact, he already has. But the chants of "overpaid," "not a starter in this league," "start Felix" and "trade bait," will only get louder this year, unless he busts out strong.

It'll still be TO's and Roy's fault for BEING released...and add a l'il Jerry & Wade into the mix too and you have the perfect Blame Martini...shaken, not stirred!
