Since everyone seems to be talked out on Drew Henson, TO is debated to a standstill, and there are enough draft threads going around, I thought we could do some different speculating. It's been done before, but it's always good conversation.

And who replaces him?

Honestly (And ya'll will hate me for it), I believe Mike Zimmer is the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. I think Jerry Jones really likes him and has him here for Bill to groom him into a "Belicheck". He wouldn't have paid so much to keep him here. Plus promoting someone from in house would continue what BP has started rather than bring in a new philosophy from an outsider.

Plus, Zimmer isn't the horrible coach many think he is. Gregg Williams was thought of as a genius last year, but Zimmer's defense (his first in a 3-4 I remind you) was right there with Williams' in rankings. I think the next head coach was between Zimmer and Payton, so now Zimmer is the guy.

He gives us a young coach to take over for years to come, and the players love him and respect him.

However there are the Holmgren supporters...

Pete Carroll.

Charlie Weis.

Jimmy Johnson.

how about the coach from Louisville and Iowa? they could be candidates as well. I don't like carroll. he failed twice. I am not hot about steeps neither.

I like weis. comes from the same coaching tree.

Jerry would not even think twice about dropping $15 million on Weis. He wont come here but for other reasons. What in Jerry's past has led you to believe he wouldnt be willing to spend money to make a big splash?

Please no Holmgren. I can stand that dink and dunk offense. Some many not like it but I like smash mouth football not that sissy wco crap.

I would take Holmgren over Zimmer any day.


At least a Holmgren offense can get in the endzone. Zimmer has a very soft bend dont break defense that never pressures QBs or forces turnovers. So I guess Zimmer would also give us a press dont push offense that only scored FGs.

the current HC at the Iowa. I forget his name but he gets a lot of complimenst and comparisons to Saban. He just re-upped but we knowhow that goes.

I don't think a college coach would be good for the Boyz in the next coming seasons. TO alone would eat him up.
